Fantastic location between collegetown and the commons (if you're up for a hilly walk). Spacious older home with many bedrooms and bathrooms. The house easily fit our group of 6 with plenty of space to spare. The details of the house reflected its school year role as student housing - while the old house had historic charm, it hadn't been upgraded or refurbished extensively. AC was only available in the bedrooms, but the shaded area remained relatively cool given the mild weather we had.

We had a really wonderful big family get together in Edgewood Manor. We had 12 people and needed a place with at least 6 separate bedrooms, and this house gave us rooms to spare. And the fact that four of the rooms had private bathrooms was a really nice touch. The screen porch and the back yard provided a great setting for relaxing afternoons--and you can hear the sound of the flowing river, which was really pleasant. You are definitely in an urban setting though, a short drive to various stuff in Ithaca, and a short (though steep) walk to collegetown and the Cornell campus.  The dining room worked for big family meals and we spent a lot of communal time in the living room (the couch is a sectional, and it really opened up that space to split it up).  We had three kids under five, and they loved the house, with all its cool staircases, window seats, and nooks and crannies. It has modern amentities (dishwasher, laundry, etc) but it definitely feels like an old house, which i personally love. One down side of an old house is that even though it was clearly cleaned prior to our arrival, it was a bit dusty, so that's not so good if you have allergies. But overall, the house provided a wonderful setting for a very enjoyable family gathering!

Our stay at the Edgewood Manor was very enjoyable. The owner and manager were communicative and available. The house was clean and beautifully charming, and all necessary amenities were covered. The location was perfect, convenient to both the Commons and Collegetown. Our group, in town for a wine tour, would not hesitate to stay here again.
