The space

This spacious and airy room is in the heart of the most exciting area in Santo Domingo: The Colonial Zone. We are a TRUE bed and breakfast in every sense of the word. Each morning we serve a fresh, hot authentic DOMINICAN BREAKFAST with an assortment of fresh squeezed juices, native tea and our country’s finest…café con leche! There is always a 24 hour station equipped with tea, coffee, juice and fresh snacks.
The room is situated with cable TV, WIFI, a powerful ceiling fan, a wardrobe, a chair, and a table. We welcome you to take advantage of the common areas in the house, which includes the spacious living area, kitchen, washing machine and an iron available for your use.
You will never run out of things to do in the Colonial Zone! We are steps away from the stimulating El Conde street, restaurants, bars, clubs, museums, health centers, shops, parks, pharmacies, churches (Primatial Cathedral of America), banks, super markets. Just two blocks in the other direction, you will find yourself on the famous Malecon (a 10 kilometer boardwalk)
There is constant public transportation and affordable taxi options in the area.
A little bit about us: My husband Rafael and I are retired from our teaching professions, and passionate about showing travelers the riches of our country. On occasion, my daughter Maria Raquel (a dancer with the national ballet dominican) and her husband Ygor come to the apartment to help out when I go to my country home.
We are happy to arrange airport pick up for a nominal fee of $30 USD (not included in the rate and is payable upon arrival at the apartment).
Safe travels and can’t wait to host your Dominican adventures!

Ms. Luz is a wonderful person. From the moment that you walk through her door, she makes it her duty to make you feel welcome and make you feel like a part of her family. She doesn't do any of this as a job but purely from the bottom of her heart. Her conversations are great and her knowledge is priceless. I can't thank her enough for all that she and her family have done. Including Igor, who assisted in transportation. I am forever grateful for such an awesome trip and I can't wait to return to be with my new 'adoptive' Dominican family :) La señora Luz es una persona maravillosa.

We enjoyed our stay in Santo Domingo. The typical Dominican breakfast was a time of fellowship with Luz and a great way for us to learn more about the country.

Staying with Luz was a wonderful experience en el capital. To begin, Luz was extremely flexible with our check-in time. She is someone you can tell is truly happy to be a host and takes pride in what she does- her morning breakfasts are delicious, she provides amenities like toiletries and strong wifi, and she is happy to sit with you and share her extensive knowledge of the city and its history (in Spanish!) for as long or as little as you like. Her place is within walking distance of a lot of stuff to do, and you can spend a long time walking around La Zona Colonial seeing and exploring. Her accommodations are simple but she has everything you need- Luz and her family are truly wonderful and a great way to spend some time in Santo Domingo

Mama Luz was an incredibly sweet host! She was welcoming and treated us like her children. Spending our weekend in her home allowed us to learn more about the culture, and try a delicious Dominican breakfast! The room was comfortable and clean with lots of airflow. We are so grateful to have stayed with her!

Luz is the sweetest woman. She gave us so many recommendations for what to see in our short time in Santo Domingo. Her breakfast is truly famous. We enjoyed just spending time talking to her and her husband and learning so much from them. What an amazing time we had at this place!

Don't stay in a hotel, stay here! Luz and her family are lovely and really helpful. You get coffee, juice and a Dominican breakfast in the morning and you are in the perfect position to visit the old town. We loved it
