This light-flooded spacious apartment sleeps 4 to 6+ comfortably, with two huge well-appointed bedrooms (and extra beds as needed). A giant eat-in fully stocked kitchen, a large enclosed sun porch, and a huge backyard provide the finishing touches on your perfect Yale homestay. Located in charming and historic East Rock, this home is right on a Yale shuttle stop, and close to markets, delis, cafes, wine shops, amazing restaurants, and much more.

The space

The first bedroom is the front bedroom, with great light. It has a desk and a queen sized platform bed with an insanely comfortable foam mattress, with two nightstands, an oversized dresser, and a large closet all available as storage.

The second bedroom is the biggest, enough to fit a large desk and workspace, ceiling height wardrobe and six drawer dresser for storage, a queen platform bed with an insanely comfortable foam mattress, and a sitting area with a plush futon by the decorative fireplace.

Should more beds be required, the futon in the second bedroom can be made up, and a twin air mattress can fit easily in the front room, allowing the apartment to easily accommodate up to seven guests. For parties over seven, special arrangements can be made; please submit an inquiry.

This house is very old, but extensive renovations were done in this unit in May 2016. There are a few things left to be wrapped up, though they shouldn't interfere with your stay! Should you encounter anything that needs attention, please don't hesitate to contact me immediately.

Guest access

Cozy living area with expandable dining table, two gigantic bedrooms with available drawers and hanging storage ready for your use. Gauzy white curtains in every bedroom window to maximize both privacy and sunlight. Space heaters and electric blankets available as needed to keep you toasty through the night. Full windowed bathroom with tub. Large enclosed sunporch with two person glider bench and spectacularly verdant views.

32" TV with Roku and Netflix on the second floor, with a ready-to-go hookup (VGA/Thunderbolt) for laptops. Highspeed wireless internet with password throughout.

Fully stocked spacious eat-in kitchen with microwave, Keurig machine, french press with Lavazza coffee, waffle maker, George Foreman tabletop grill, rice cooker, full sized juicer, rocket blender, slow cooker/ crockpot, and complete set of Calphalon cook and bakeware can all be made available. If you are missing anything, please just ask!

Please treat the space as though it were your own, and try to leave it as tidy and clean as possible :)

Try to conserve electricity if you can - it's an old house and I'd hate for you to have to deal with the breaker box! In particular, the AC units and heaters must be switched off whenever you leave the house.

Unfortunately, given recent mishaps, if upon checking out an AC unit or heater or an excess of lights are left on, a $50 fee will be imposed through the Airbnb resolutions tool for each infraction.

Nicole was very nice and communicated well, and the apartment served us okay for an overnight trip. However, I have to note for future guests that only one mattress was "insanely comfortable" per the description. The mattress and futon in the back bedroom are pretty uncomfortable -- saggy, and you can feel the metal frame through the mattress. An earlier review noted this about the futon, and it can't just be covered up by a cushy mattress cover. A cat was loudly meowing to us from another part of the house and we weren't able to do anything about it, and the host was not there to do anything for it. I understand the cat was just lonely, and it settled down after a while, but it was hard to hear.

Nice location in New Haven. Close to some coffee shops. Not the best in winter, but would be much nicer in warmer months.

Nicole was responsive, welcoming and understanding. She was an excellent host. The neighborhood is nice and pretty. The only setback we encountered was that the showerhead broke, but Nicole responded immediately to fix the problem which we appreciated. The apartment was smaller than I had expected but it fit our needs and my family and I enjoyed our stay.

Nicole communicated with us before we arrived. She asked us when we will arrive. During our stay, she told us where to fill gas and purchase stuff. Very helpful and nice person.
