Cabin with veranda by Kemijoki river. Breakfast included. Good place for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. 50 m from cabin is a Kemijoki river, the biggest river in Finland. Swimming place nearby. Santa Claus village only is two hours away from my house. Unique in the world Santa's seaside office in 7 km from the house. SnowCastle in Kemi 7 km and Icebreaker Sampo 15 km. One of the largest Arctic zoo - ZooRanua Wildlife Park only one and a half hours away from here.

The space

Excellent chances to see Aurora Borealis spectacle (Northern lights). Possibilities: swimming, fishing, ski, cycle, roller skate. Ice fishing on the Kemijoki river that is 50 metres from the cabin. Husky farm also nearby. SnowCastle in Kemi 7 km and Icebreaker Sampo 15 km. One of the largest Arctic zoo - ZooRanua Wildlife Park only one and a half hours away from here, where you can see polar bears and more than 50 species of other arctic animals. There is St. Michael's Church about 4 km from my home. That is a real medieval stone church, which was founded in 1550 and this place is definitely worth to see also.

Guest access

Ice skates, skis, sledges, sleighs, roller skates, bikes, ice fishing equipments are available for free.

Interaction with guests

I am also travelling quite much so many times the house is empty, but my mom is here assisting the guests and she can help you to feel yourself like at home.

Other things to note

Parking place in my yard with electricity. I am fluent in English, Finnish and Swedish. I can also speak a little bit German.

A great calm place for stop over or a few more nights. Marko and her mom Satu are extremely welcoming and warmhearted people and great to hang out with. They also respect your own privacy if you want to be by yourself. Much recommended stay!

Where to start...well first off we were having a terrible day in Oulu and we were forced to stay in Kemi. We were not liking Finland in Oulu. Anyway Marko met us at the train station (good luck figuring out public transportation by yourself), and before we even got to the place he allowed us to stop at a market to pick up food. After that he transported us to his place of stay which is in an awesome location. It gives you a really good feeling about it. The place is cozy, and his mother might make you food, tea, and maybe even breakfast (she did for us). We sat down with them and had an awesome dinner and breakfast. And really learned a lot. Marko has some interesting things to say. This is by far my favorite place I have stayed ever. I want to come back to Finland and stay in his place here or maybe up north farther during winter. I would like to say the place is nice but its Marko and his mother that make this place one of a kind. Thanks again Marko you made our day

Marko is a best host, which i have ever met! During my staying in Marko's house, he has permanently helped me in different kind of situations. First time, when i have arrived in Keminmaa, my English was quite bad (about my pronunciation i even keep quiet). But, in despite of that, he understood me correctly ten times out of ten. Moreover, when i'll come back in Ukraine, i can say, that: "yeah, i am able to go to skiing" - in a boastful manner))). Marko, thanks a lot for that). Marko's mom was also very polite, kindly and quite communicative!) Bakery products and marjakeitto from Satu were divine!! For example, for me this soup was like a rescue, because i am from Ukraine and almost each day i am eating different kind of soups unlike some other European countries. Strongly recommend his accomodotion option for those who whant to spend time in a friend and peaceful atmosphere, for those who want to feel himself like at home and find not only house but home. It was time, when i felt myself like at home. Special thanks for Husky farm trip and journey to Kolari. Best regards and greetings from Ukraine, Leonid
