Enjoy a great view of the three-acre pond in all its wonder and night sounds. Above will be the beautiful night sky - with no street lights. Fully-equipped kitchen, or cook outdoors on the provided charcoal grill. A farm gift and an experience on the farm will be included for your enjoyment.

Queen bed in bedroom, futon in LR opens to sleep two and a queen air mattress can be called upon to sleep two more.

Picnic table and deck also enhance your stay.

The space

We will provide a farm gift for your party; either fresh chicken or duck eggs, maybe some homemade preserves or handmade soap. We are a small operation so inventory changes, but we hope you will be delighted with the gift.

Guest access

The entire half of the duplex, the deck, the picnic table area are all available without restriction If children under 18 walk the grounds, we request an adult accompany them. It is farmland and there are animals, animal holes such as from a fox or groundhog; and it is best that an adult supervise the investigation of these fascinations. Also, sheep and llama are not petting zoo animals so they can certainly be admired, but approaching them is not advisable without supervision of the owners of Spring Haven. However, we do like to share the animals if the timing is right. Especially during lambing season, it's enjoyable to observe.

Interaction with guests

We have a 3 acre pond which is available for you to walk along and enjoy the scenery and probably our free range ducks swimming about. We will respect your privacy, however, will be responsive to texts and phone calls during your stay.

Other things to note

Bring your own charcoal for the grill which is provided, or buy some here. Please request it in advance so it can be waiting for you.

House has everything you need for comfortable stay while exploring beautiful Virginia nature. Comfy bed, clean towels, hot water, super cool rocking chair, awesome neighbors (aka sheep and alpaca) and great hosts. Thank you, Peter and Helen!

Peter and Helen were awesome, cute place. We went during stink bug season, so the place did have some stink bugs get in, but nothing against them it's just that time of the year. They really hooked us up with our welcome gifts with eggs, soap and even some burlap roses. We came up to hike Old Rag and the location was prime, only about a 20 minute drive, so we were able to beat the crowds. Highly recommend them or any of there properties to anyone whose looking for a great location at a fair price

Traditional farm style cottage on large patch of land. Beautiful rural location. Two cottages side by side. There were no guests in the other cottage while we stayed but there is enough privacy and space if both are occupied. Owners live in house across small lake. The cottage had double bedroom, fully equipped kitchen with oven, fridge freezer and microwave. Lounge/sitting area - is quite rustic but comfortable. Wi-Fi good. Hot shower. Towels and toiletries provided. State park close by. Good place to relax, nice private lawn to sit out on and enjoy the country side.

The farmhouse was charming, located by a tranquil pond 15 minutes from town and about an hour from Shenandoah Valley hiking and the Luray Caverns. There was a full kitchen, ample space for 2 people, and the shower had great pressure. I had my heart set on meeting the bunnies and llamas on the farm but that wasn't possible with the hosts schedule. We got to see the sheep from a distance. I really appreciated the fresh eggs and pickles and look forward to enjoying them soon.

Response from PeterandHelen:
We are sorry there was not enough time for you to see the animals up close. As you know we are a small, working farm and need as much time as possible to arrange our schedule. Your request at 9pm for the next morning before you checked out at 11 am was just not possible. However, the next time you come, please schedule it before you arrive and we will make sure you see them. We noticed you did not have time to feed the ducks with the bread we left in the fridge. Usually they just "flock" to that treatment. Please come again.

The farm is an idyllic setting, wonderful spot to fire up the grill and relax with a beer after a long day of hiking. Peter and Helen were very communicative and helpful. Overall, a great place to stay close to Shenandoah!

A truly relaxing and comfortable place to be! I'm so happy to have found this great place and would recommend it to anyone ready to feel at home and on vacation at the same time. It was filled with loving touches that made it a memorable stay. We enjoyed it immensely.

We welcome you to Spring Haven Farm. Animals, both domestic and wild, roam the grounds, and the three-acre pond provides endless fascination, and it's just plain relaxing and peaceful. We often have events such as the Astronomy club comes to meet on the grounds because the nigh…
