Our place is close to Hobart (20-25 minutes drive) and the Huon and Channel (Bruny Island etc). It is about 45 minutes from the airport. It is a farm cottage set within paddocks and great walks, with great views. You’ll love our place because of the cosiness, it is an old cottage fully refurbished with a wood fire and electric heating. Our place is good for couples or families (with kids).

The space

You are in a secluded part of the farm and will have free access to wander across the paddocks up into the forest, or perhaps choose to take the well signed Allens Rivulet Track which starts 50m nearby and meanders under towering cliffs and along the watercourse joining up with a larger walk of 5km if you want. Plenty of walking and cycling options around.

Guest access

Set in Allens Rivulet you are close to a great local pub (it's the pub featured in the comedy RoseHaven on ABC TV) that has great food, a handy local shop with all the basics, and a local organic farm that sells excellent fresh greens and vegies in season.

Robyne was an amazing host, she immediatly made us feel welcome and comfortable when we arrived with a welcome basket filled with homemade treats and eggs from here on the farm. The cottage was lovely and exactly as described, we loved the fireplace and friendly resident wallabies who occasionally visited. Allens Rivulet is a great place to stay, the nearby nature walks were breathtaking and the cottage was so beautiful and comfortable we didn't want to leave!

Robyne's place is wonderful! The farm is so beautiful and relaxing. Great location- about 20 to 30 minutes from Hobart. Robyn left us delicious bread and eggs for breakfast and there was plenty of grocery shopping options less than 15 minutes. Would highly recommend the place to people wanting a quiet, relaxing getaway in Tasmania. Thanks!

A delightful cottage on a working farm. It is secluded, quiet and very comfy but still only 15 minutes or so to Hobart. The shower is small but awesome. And freshly baked bread and crab apple jam upon our arrival was fantastic!

A lovely place to stay in the countryside. Fairly quiet (depending on farm noise and chooks) at almost the bottom of the hill. Beds were comfy, fire for cool nights. Everything worked. Welcoming basket on arrival with jam, jelly, fresh bread and butter. Secluded. Back deck to enjoy the sunshine as well. Close to many sights and Hobart. Bathroom: Shower only, no bath. Laundry: washing machine, dryer and clothesline Fire for cool nights with wood provided Dining area Galley kitchen with good range of essential cooking items provided, check that fridge has freezer section if bringing frozen goods. Travel: end of gravel section of road at bottom of hill. Coverage: Vodafone - very iffy coverage for internet and sometimes no service for phone. Great to disconnect. TV: yes. Blessing or a curse with children.

Very nice hosts who brought us a fresh loaf of bread, butter and ham. Abbey nice gesture to make our stay in the cottage more comfortable. Rustic but it has it all. Good to cut off from hectic urban life in rural Tasmania yet very close to Hobart. Super hosts who went the extra mile with our children - feeding hens in he morning and petting and riding horses. Lovely stay!!!

I am semi retired , we have several houses and cottages on the farm, and I live across the road. We have a lovely community who help each other out and look after each other's animals. We make our own jams and bread and like to think you will enjoy our little slice of simplicity in Tasmania.
