Where do I start? This island is absolutely paradise. Your own motu out in the middle of nowhere disconnected from the modern world. We picked fresh papaya and herbs from the local garden on the island everyday. Cracked coconuts and made our own milk for coffee in the mornings. You do need to know how to cook! Otherwise it's going to be tuff. lol It wasn't for us because we know how to cook. IIona & Tahema were incredibly kind and funny as hell! This place will help you realize what's really important in life. No internet, TV and phone was a reset button for us. You can wake up and go swimming right in front of your fare. If you like camping this is perfect for you. Not for resort seekers. Thank you once again IIona & Tahema for the beautiful experience. Mauruuru roa!

We loved our time here. We were lucky to have two of our three nights here with only us on the motu (island). FYI it's not really an island, as you can drive between the different motu in shallow water, but you are a million miles away from anyone, it's lovely to avoid the bustling tourists (and no locals either) The motu are all sharp volcanic rock and coral - beach shoes are a must. When we arrived, Ilona gave us a wonderful tour of the island and facilities, including food from her garden, how to harvest your own coconut, and how to catch fish. If you go fishing, make sure you do it at night! Just from the beach/reef is fine. Ilona is super lovely, and speaks great English. We woke every morning to the beautiful lagoon above our toes (the bungalow is right beside the water, stunning!) and some of our best snorkelling was here, just in front of the island! Tropical fish, clams, beautiful corals, we even saw 1 black tip shark. If you are after an off-the-beaten-track experience, in one of the most beautiful places in the world, then book this! If you want restaurants, shops, and tourists, then don't. Enjoy! P.S. we dived for a day from main town too, Ilona had someone pick us up and return us - some of the best diving in the world in my opinion!

Ilona's motu is a quiet little place, where you spend your days fishing, snorkeling, making coconut melk by yourself, barbecueing, reading or just watching the waves. We were not one single time bored within our four days, thanks also to the good equipment lika a kajak, fishing gear, snorkels, etc. Make sure you bring all food with you, but don't make the same mistake as we and buy too many tins or pasta. We cough fish everyday and Ilona was so friendly to give us fruits and vegetables from her own garden for free!! She organized as well a fantastic trip to good snorkel spots for us. The kitchen is well equipped. The only thing we would recommend is to take a mosquito net with you - there is none and the mosquitoes can be quiet bothering when there is no wind. Ilona is one of the best hosts we ever met, she even invited us for lunch on our last day. Transport from and to the motu was always good organized for us and in case of emergency she gave us a mobile to get easy in touch with her. We would definitely love to come back in the future!

If you want to get away from civilisation and are okay being completely alone with a fantastic nature and scenery, then this is the perfect choice for you. My girlfriend and I stayed at this place for 6 days and we absolutely loved it. The water is so beautiful and there a so many different fish to look at when walking down the beach. Illona was the nicest host ever, she made us feel taken care off even though we were left alone. She cooked for us a few times and took us on a boat tour and showed us how to make the local dishes and how to make coconut milk from a fresh coconut. This place is really unique and I strongly recommend you to try it out if you are looking for the "Robinson Crusoe" experience.

The loveliest and most spectacular secluded bungalows an the beach, with a very hospitable host, Ilona. Bring a torch or headlamp, the electricity in the evening was not reliable. We were offered boat trips with very nice arranged lunches and excursions. Strongly recommended.

Ilona's moto and bungalow are really the paradise on earth! We loved to stay here, it's a place for relaxation, snorkeling and swimming from right outside the bungalow (2-3 meters away), reading and cooking your own food. It's a place where you get to connect to the nature and the nice surroundings. You will have your own kitchen in a nearby building with outdoor barbeque area and dining area in the shadow. Behind the kitchen building and the bedroom bungalow Ilona have a garden with papaya trees, figue trees and some other fruits and vegetables. We were very happy to get to taste these fruits. The bungalow where you sleep have a lovely terrrace with nice sun deck chairs which is a great spot for watching the sunset go down over the lagoon (amazing view). The bathroom has a shower with cold/only sun warmed water but worked well for us. The communication with Ilona through the app went smooth, and when she knew when we should arrive to Rangiroa Airport she arranged taxi for us to her and from there she drove us to the moto. Ilona did everything to make us feel welcome, to get us all set for a stay in the bungalow with no supermarkets or stores to get to and for us to have a lovely stay at her moto. We would love to go back!

Absolutely amazing. Uncomparable with anything else. The best lifetime experience. Starting from an airport pick up, we were amazed. Ilona welcomed us with the tiaré flower leis, made by her own, way nicer than the hotel resorts ones J. Another surprise came right after. Instead of a car, we hopped on a motor boat and went to get our supplies from her store so we would survive the next 3 days faraway from all the people on a lonely amazing place right on our private beach. In about 20 minutes boat ride, we were finally there. It was like a dream, we felt like Robinson Crusoe. We picked coconuts and catch fish, snorchled, at night we just watched the stars, we could do whatever we wanted. Such a peacefull and romantic place, just perfect for our honeymoon. The last day Ilona took us snorchling to the best spot in Rangiroa and we ended our stay with wonderfull lunch, that Ilona made for us. She is simply the best person we have ever met on our travels. We were lucky enough to experience the unbelievable hospitality of polynesian people. Ilona there are no words to describe, how much we appriciate all you did for us. You made us so happy. Thank you so much for everything and we hope to meet you again. Maururu. Tomas and Veronika
