Le Manoir is central to so many places - with the golden beaches of the Atlantic + the historic port of La Rochelle and the stunning island of Ile de Re to the West; the rolling Dordogne hills plus Bordeaux and it's vineyards to the South; the magnificent Chateaux of the Loire to the North as well as the majestic old Charente towns, including Cognac and Saintes, to the East ... and everywhere in between!
There is just so much to see and do in this beautiful, yet unspoilt, part of France.
Le Manoir is a beautifully furnished and fully equipped C18th Charentaise Farmhouse Cottage which overlooks the tranquil French countryside. The fully renovated character interior incorporates exposed stonework and wooden beams, with high ceilings and generous sized rooms.
Le Manoir comes FULLY equipped with every conceivable holiday requirement including WiFi, BBQ and outdoor dining area. In addition, guests have access to a very large terraced pool; manicured gardens (including a guest vegetable patch) and a wide variety of sports equipment as well as DVDs, bikes, pool inflatables etc.
There is even a massage facility for guests, after long walks or bike rides or for those simply wanting to be be pampered!
Interaction with guests
We live on-site not only ensure that you settle in comfortably but also that all the facilities are maintained during your stay. We are also there, if needed, to offer help and suggestions as to where to eat, what to see and where to go during your visit to the beautiful Charente Maritime.
Other things to note
Le Manoir is so well equipped, you need only bring yourselves, your clothes and some good company ... so planes (most regional and budget airlines fly to La Rochelle & Bordeaux airports) or trains (TGV to Surgeres) are a great viable alternative to ferries and cars as a way of getting to us.
The Charente Maritime region is also the 2nd sunniest area in France and much more accessible, peaceful and less expensive than the South of France!
My wife, Margy, and I live in Australia between the months of October and April.
We love the idyllic French lifestyle and look forward to welcoming your group of family, friends or colleagues to our beautiful cottages\ gites in the Charente Maritime...the most unspoilt part of the country, in our humble Aussie opinion!
