About this listing
La Cachette is a picturesque 19th century stone house. For nature lovers and hikers it is the ideal holiday home. It invites you to relax, cozy get-together and cooking together in the fully equipped kitchen.
The region is mountainous with a moderate climate and a touch of lavender from Provence.
Families with children, couples and small groups up to max. Eight people can feel comfortable there.
Pets are welcome.
La Cachette, the former hostel, is an old stone house with almost a meter thick walls, an open fireplace, a living room and a large living room. The house is tastefully furnished and habitable in every season. In the winter, electric radiators, wood and petroleum are heated. In the summer it is pleasantly cool by the thick walls. On the large terrace there is enough garden furniture to stay there, to eat etc.
There are four bedrooms, some with double beds, sofabed and a single bed. A travel cot for a baby is available, incl. A fifth bedroom is currently being built. Still expanded.
You should feel at home and use all the rooms. In the basement and on the attic store our own supplies and garments. Barbecue and garden furniture are in the barn. If your firewood needs, I ask you to settle this with Nathalie (a filling under the fireplace costs 30 €).
Interaction with guests
We spend the summer months mostly in Germany, so that we are not present at the time to welcome you.
The local contact is Nathalie Duby, Tel: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), who takes care of everything when we are not there.
In the winter half-year we usually live the house ourselves and enjoy the peace and seclusion.
Other things to note
In the village there are bread, eggs, goat cheese and sheep yoghurt to buy. For everything else you have to drive by car to the nearest larger places (20 or 40 km). Also worthwhile are the local markets (a plan depends on the house). We have telephone, but we do not use TV and Internet.
If you need it, you can use the public W-LAN network in the village. The best reception is on the steps in front of the municipal office (Mairie).
Bathing possibilities are available in a bathing lake south of La Motte Chalancon in about 20 km distance.
- Please be careful with open fire! Never leave unattended! The house is lovingly furnished. All guests should feel at home and please treat everything as they would at home.
- The waste water is cleaned in a Fosse septique. Never use sharp detergents, use only the in-stock toilet paper and do not throw anything into the toilets. Pets are welcome.
