My Barn is close to 3 world class ski resorts, Interstate 80, public transport, art and culture, glittering night life, and all mountain and water sports. Accessible to 400 miles of free mountain trail system from the front door. You will stay in a quiet, rural environment where the elk, deer and other wildlife wander through the property. You’ll love my place because of the southwest light, incomparable views, convenience to what you came here for, and attention to comfort and detail.
Although this is remodeled barn, you won't find straw or smell animals in this home, other than the paintings on the wall and the wildlife who roam through the property. The former barn has been completely remodeled to be cozy, clean and comfortable living space for people. 1200 square feet includes radiant heat and double sided gas fireplace between bedroom 1 and living room. Bedroom 2 has a pull out sofa inflatable bed. House has a SW orientation with wall of windows focused on the back of the Wasatch range and 3 ski resorts. Patio surrounds the house for outdoor enjoyment. Gas grill available for use. Fully stocked large kitchen with gas range and oven. I provide coffee, tea, and a few standard breakfast options with a coffee pot, blender, toaster, etc. Icemaker in fridge. Air conditioning for summer guests. 1 large bathroom with bubbelator tub and walk in shower. The half bath includes washer/dryer, toilet and sink. Convenient off street parking in the front of the house.
The house was a barn originally built by my husband and myself when we moved here in 1990. It was home to my horses, goats, sheep, rabbits, chinchillas and cats for many years. It was remodeled in 2012 to be a guest house once all the animals were gone and it was no longer needed as a barn. I think that is what gives it such a good vibe. This house was designed for spacious views, comfort and relaxation. The house sits on an acre pasture of wild grasses and wildflowers which is partially fenced.
Guests will have access to entire house and grounds.
Interaction with guests
I am available by phone or text anytime but do not live close by so we probably will not meet. I keep menu guides, travel guides, maps in the residence so you can decide what you want to do and when. I also keep a guest book which I hope you will add to with your own recommendations and reviews for others enjoyment. I'm always happy to make recommendations based on my own experience. I have lived here for 26 years.
Other things to note
A car to get around is most convenient but everything is very close by, just not within walking distance in the winter. 4 wheel drive is NOT necessary. I don't have it and am always able to access this property. Roads are well maintained. Of course, there is no problem in the summer. Very easy and quick access to I-80 and Highway 40 Interchange. Local taxis, Lyft and Uber are also options.
My home is a remodeled barn on acreage high in the Rocky Mountains with an incredible view in an equestrienne neighborhood. Originally from California, I have lived here for 25 years so I know the area well. When I first moved to Park City, we lived in the log home on the property. I have in the past used the log home for Airbnb guests when it was my primary residence. The barn originally sheltered my horses, goats, sheep, rabbits, cats, chinchillas and one guardian dog. I raised those animals mainly for fiber production and spun their fleeces and wool into yarn. Once the animals were all gone I remodeled the barn and used it for a guest house. Now I use the guest house for a vacation get away and Airbnb.
