Welcome to Auckland! We're Max & Matt. Our place is close to Mt Eden Stadium, Kingsland restaurants & bars, Morningside Train station (a mere 5 minute walk) Auckland Zoo, Westcity Mall and Cinema Multiplexes, a big Countdown Supermarket (also 5 minutes from the door). You’ll love our place because of the close convenience to Ponsonby, Karangahape Rd, the Auckland CBD, the peace and quiet, and the lush green garden full of morning sun.
Matt is an Emergency Doctor and does shift work - so he may be sleeping during the day while you're here. We'll let you know if this will be the case during your stay so you can be conscious of noise.
We're happy to lend you a cool bluetooth headset so you can listen to music or watch Netflix and chill on these occasions.
You'll have your own private room.
Interaction with guests
Max will always be home mornings and evenings - and will be available for you to phone if you need help with anything.

I am a writer/director of feature films and television from New Zealand. If you search for Everything We Loved you can see some of my work online.
I consider myself a friendly, curious person - but I like to be alone when I write.
I think the best advice ever given is "be kind". The Dalai Lama says this all the time. The next best advice comes from the drunk and womanizing Christopher Doyle, a cinematographer whose work is extraordinary, who says "work with people you love". So I try to to be kind and work with people I love. So far so good.
I love cycling and going for walks around new cities (especially if I get to take a dog with me). I also enjoy going to the gym as a break from working at the laptop. When I'm home here in New Zealand, I try every year to go on a few solo hikes into the mountains, to stay in little cabins.
I have a long-running love affair with Berlin. It's my favourite city in the world, and I speak passable German.
One of my favourite poems is "Wild Geese" by Mary Oliver. Go on... look for it online right now. ;-) It is only a few lines long, it is perfect - and it will stir the best part of you.
