Lovely room in a 3 bedroom flat.

Whitechapel, whilst in Central London, seems to host an entire independent multicultural and multi ethnic nation reluctant to give in to gentrification. like most, I would not leave it for another area of London.

Public transport is extensive. Access to the different networks from the flat include the Tube (Underground), DLR and Overground at around 5 to 7 minutes walk.

Great link to all major landmarks in London.

Wanderlei is a great host and will go above and beyond to ensure the comfort of his guests. I can not falter his dedication and efforts. The accommodation itself is totally suitable for the budget traveller looking for s place to rest. My room had a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities - surprisingly the fridge was even stocked with breakfast items / which I thought to be luxury compliment to the room. All in all a quirky, off beat, yet comfortable stay! Thanks Wanderlei!

Wanderlei was a fantastic host. He took care of every small detail in the room, including providing breakfast for all the days that I lived there. The location is fantastic and quiet. Its a very short walk from Whitechapel station not to mention a number of nice restaurants and shops around the corner from the apartment. The room itself was very well designed and cozy. There is lots of closet space as well. The room also has large windows that allow you a nice view of whitechapel and the far away skyscrapers! Wanderlei is a wonderful person and very easy to talk to! Would love to go back.

What we liked at Wandelei's place: - Good location - Nice touch to have breakfast (including tea and coffee) for us (in the room) - Fresh flowers on the table that were changed during our stay there What we felt needs improvement: - The door to the bedroom does not have a key and the door was open when we got home (we closed it when we left) and details in the room had changed. It felt like the room was used during our absence. - Construction of the kitchen (or preparation of it) was done late at night, sometimes making it too noisy to sleep. I asked if he could stop after an hour (around 1 am) and he stopped, which we appreciated. Special note for travelers with asthma: - Despite the house rules saying "no smoking", flat mates smoke in a separate room. - During the days that we were there, there was a dog living in the apartment. Those were the reasons why we decided to leave early.

Response from Wanderlei:
It's always so nice to hear from my guests. Even though it's been just two weeks it feels like a lifetime away. Samanthi was actually the last guest I had since the renovations at my flat have began. As of today I have a brand new bathroom. YAY. And it will be another few days until my new kitchen is up and running. Thank you Samanthi for showing appreciation for the breakfast provided, it was really my pleasure. The fresh flower aren't just for my guests, but it lifts my spirit a little bit. I just love them around the house! And in regard to the location: I love living in Whitechapel. Thanks god for gentrification : ) The room you were staying in is actually my bedroom and I don't think I'll be listing it anymore; I miss living in it. I never really felt the need to lock it. I've always assumed there's a trust relationship between guests and hosts considering one of the first things I do when guests arrive is to hand them a key to my house. The reason your door wasn't shut was because I wanted you to know that I've gone into the room. If someone specifically asks me not to go into the room while they are out (even though I would find it a bit suspicious that someone wouldn't want me to enter a room in my house) I wouldn't go in. However, if I have the time I try to empty all the bins in the house and I also like to make sure you have clean plates, glasses and little things like that. On that specific day I had just bought new flowers, so I took the opportunity to also put some new flowers for you and Klass. I hope your breathing have improved. Again, I'm terribly sorry your health took such a turn for the worse. I don't actually have a flatmate. I did however have a friend staying with me. I haven't been a host for that long time. I always try to be there for a friend when they need help. I find it hard to say no to someone who shows up on my doorstep with a couple of suitcases and a dog in the middle of night with a broken heart... I should have said no and because I didn't you were the one who ended up suffering. I'm terribly sorry for that. I suppose as a host I should bare in mind not only the inconveniences brought to me, but also to my guests. Lesson learnt. I hope you let me make up for it. You are most welcome to come stay at mine's free of charge for a couple of nights.

I enjoyed my brief stay in Wanderlei's flat. I only met him once I arrived but he was good with his communication and useful when showing me the flat. Whilst the flat isn't in the best location, it is close to the tube and DLR so I cannot complain too much. It would ideally suit someone seeking a short stay for business. The breakfast in the room was a nice touch, allowing me to have some food before my early departure.

Our host was very friendly and welcoming. We did have to wait a little bit for him to reply to us upon our arrival in London and we were not out in the room advertised, but he was apologetic and he had a good reason. The bathroom and kitchen aren't great but if you're looking for a simple room to stay in at a good location then this is ideal.

Wanderlei's place is basic but still comfortable enough for a few days stay. The host is easygoing and very helpful.

Originally from Brazil living in London for over 14 years. I'm a bachelor of the arts by the University of London in Film and Media Studies with a focus on Scriptwriting. I have a big variety of interests such as design, photography, film, television, cooking and of lately the project of redoing my home which keeps me busy with various activities from shopping for new/old furnitures or littles jobs as handy man around the house.
