Pixie Hall is near farm land and situated by an ancient Ironage settlement near the quaint village of Penponds. The peaceful double bedroom has amazing views with cycling and walking nearby. Yummie cream tea and cake can be ordered as a treat.

The space

The Cottage, is set within a quiet and relaxing environment whereby you can unwind and relax. The unmade, bumpy, bridle way leading to my home is very pretty with wild flowers and open fields. Breakfast is self service so you can take your time in the morning. Although the cottage dates back to the 1900 it has alot of character and now has a new roof and more up to date heating. Inside it is spacious with a sunny breakfast area and two double rooms available. The environment is very quiet so you will feel like you are in a different world. My closest neighbours are the local sheep and cattle and lots of wildlife.

Guest access

The sunny double room is near to the bathroom and there is a shower room downstairs. You are welcome to make a cup of tea in the kitchen and use the fridge, but please note the kitchen is only available to make light snacks . A separate sitting room which leads onto the garden is available to relax in. Plus of course the garden itself which is very sheltered and quiet and perfect for the evening bar-be-que.

Interaction with guests

The cottage is my home so I will be available to give you details of tourist attractions and directions to the amazing secret sites of Cornwall.

Other things to note

I am able to offer gluten, wheat free breakfasts and if you book you can also sample a delicious Cornish tea to include scones, sandwiches and cake all homemade by me. Also available to book are holistic therapies from reflexology, Reiki, and holistic angel readings.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Deborah, she has a very lovely home, and made us feel very welcome. We highly recommend staying here, it is very easy to get to all the main sights from here by car! Thank you so much for having us :)

We arrived at Deborah's cottage after a hair-raising drive down the narrow and twisting countryside lanes... the last bit rocky, rutted and bumpy. For Canadians... first time in England, first time driving on th(URL HIDDEN) left and first time experiencing the narrow country lanes of Cornwall this was challenging...and we could not have found it without the satnav !! So we arrived in an anxious state... and Deborah was wonderful ! So welcoming , kind and helpful! The home is really, quaint, memorable in a special way and comfortable! Everything was just as we could wish ! The Wifi worked perfectly! The view from the upstairs room was enchanting...and the sound of cows nearby so charming! and actually (once we figure out the approach and how to use our satnav) it worked out quite well as a central point of access for everywhere we wanted to visit in Cornwall! The neighbor Charles met us when we returned on our second night, and was delightful and interesting to chat with! The food was perfect... and the little breakfast eating nook behind her kitchen lovely for a relaxing time in the morning !

Deborah's cottage has spectacular views over the countryside and inspite of 5 days of solid rain, the views were still amazing. Also the peace and quiet was lovely. The accommodation was pretty much what I was expecting from the photo's. It is a series of fairly small rooms with a downstairs shower room and upstairs bathroom. I did not see a guest sitting room as detailed. The three things that detract from the cottage is the access, the lack of wifi and the damp. The unmade road accessing the cottage is deeply rutted and would be unnegotiable in a sports car (as opposed to a convertible) or a car with low profile tyres. Luckily I was in my off road vehicle during this visit and not in my Peugeot convertible with low profile tyres. The damp is due in part to the age of the cottage and in part to the damaged guttering which is letting water run down the walls. In my room it was obvious that the roof flashings on one side of the dormer had failed as the ceiling was wet and the smell of damp very strong. The details suggest that wifi is available but the note left in the room on arrival made it clear that it was not unlimited and barely worked - the TV did not work either. The only other thing that I found uncomfortable was the lack of privacy locks to the bathroom, shower room and bedroom, especially as there were other guests in the house during my stay.

Response from Deborah:
Thank you Louise for pointing these things out to me and I will rectify the description to the unmade lane and make others aware it is a bridal way as well. There is as you see a guest sitting room but as you were out from 8am until late each day visiting family I never had a chance to point this out to you. As you know with your stay the weather was atrocious with downpours every day. So sadly my guttering could not cope with the amount of water, I had not noticed the ceiling was damp as I had the roof looked at last year but will investigate this again. Regarding the wifi, with the rain it kept dropping out. On the day you left as you saw BT were sorting this out for me and now I do have unlimited wifi and hopefully no more further problems. I do apologise for this and also the lack of tv. Most people are happy watching a wide range of dvd's that I have available and I did note your concern regarding this. So I did go out and buy a freeview box for you. Sadly then there was a problem with the television and I could not rectify this in the time available before you left. Regarding locks on the rooms, the bathroom does have one, but I will look into the shower room and bedroom. It is rare I have two sets of guests at a time, the other couple only been with me for two days. Regarding the cobwebs I am sorry but for anyone who has lived in the countryside it is an ongoing battle to keep them under control and spend every other day clearing them away. I did see the one in your bedroom when you left and it has duly been dispatched!!. I hope anyway that your stay was pleasant minus these inconveniences.

Amazing you'll find this place simply by entering "paradise" into the sat nav - it's true! My mum and I had such a wonderful stay. Debbie's cottage is like a fairy garden surrounded by a magnificent country side view. 20 walk to bus station that can take you to Penzance, St Ives and Truro. The walk is super enjoyable, you wouldn't even realise it takes that long. Debbie is very lovely and helpful, and I strongly recommend her cream tea :) Also special thanks to Debbie's neighbour Charles, who gave us a tour in the village and told us many interesting local stories, we really enjoyed his company. I love it here, and I think it's the people that make the place!

So love to meet you and your mum and apologise for the weather, but glad you had such a good time and that Charles was able to entertain you. I hope to visit China sometime and will be in touch with your mum. x

We received a warm & friendly welcome from Debbie and Beck. Debbie’s home is located in a secluded peaceful rural setting there are great relaxing views over the fields the Cornish countryside. The access is via a narrow unsealed country lane with an uneven surface. The accommodation was cozy and comfortable, breakfast was just right. Debbie is a lovely host, very helpful and considerate and can give you information on what to discover in the region. We would stay there again on a return trip.

The cozy cottage was the perfect accommodation for our short break at a friends wedding. Homely and quiet offering everything that you would need. Breakfast was just right and nothing was too much trouble. A very enjoyable little trip away from the children.

I love living in this part of the world in the middle of the countryside where you can live in the slow lane and appreciate the wonderful landscape and our fab beaches. I am a holistic therapist and run various workshops and groups teaching meditation and healing. My hobbies are gardening, writing, travel and baking, my cakes are well known in these parts. We are very blessed with unique theatres such as the Minack and Carnglaze to hear fab music and have a real atmosphere with the elements been part of the plays. So I look forward to welcoming you into my home which I hope you use as a retreat, and chill out zone while you enjoy the many facets of Cornwall.
