Looking to get away from fast paced lives to spend time with nature?
Be as solitary or as social as you choose. Self cater, dine out in the 22km away Village or enjoy the full country experience and dine with the host.

Why not make your stay even more special by taking up the option of a relaxing massage from your host, who is a qualified masseuse.

The space

Our quite new galvanised iron clad buildings reflect shearing sheds on the sheep station this property was once part of. The interior of Tree Change Cottage & our home are spacious and modern. Both were architecturally designed for comfort, aesthetic appeal and to suit this climate.

Guest access

Currently you are welcome to access the non bush fire affected areas. For your person safely, YOU MUST KEEP OUT OF BURNT AREAS. Tree fall is a great risk at this time.

The timber verandah on the northern side of our home is available for you to view our kangaroos and native birds. The outdoor table & chairs may be used by you.

Within reasonable hours, you may arrange to use your mobile phones and access internet in our home.

Interaction with guests

We will generally be available on site to assist you with WiFi access in our home, local information such as the range of choices to eat out and a wide variety of places nearby to visit. Canberra, our national capital which is less than 1 hour away by car has wonderful music events, theatre and a wide ongoing range of events .

Other things to note

Our landscape has begun to rejuvenate quickly since the 17th January 2017, when a huge grassland and bushfire swept through our property & other neighbouring ones. Some trees are reshooting. All the trees immediately surrounding the Cottage were not burnt. We still have some native wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, blue tongue lizards, possums, wombats, at least 1 echidna and an abundance of many native birds.
If you love nature, there is so much to enjoy here.

It was our 2nd stay at Anne's place and I can only thank her again for her hospitality and kindness! As last time, the place is sparkling clean, charming, cozy and warm, the beds are extremely comfortable! The small breakfast she left for us was not small at all and it was delicious! She is always available to answer any questions and give heaps of tips of things to do! I cannot recommend her enough (over and over again)! If you are looking for a place to stay in the area, don't look further! You wont find a better place!

My partner and I had a fantastic time staying at the cottage! It was exceptionally spacious for 2 people with all the amenities you would ever need. Anne was very flexible re:arrival time and was able to accomodate an earlier arrival for us which was great! 10/10 would stay again.

Anne's place is one of the more worthy places I've stayed since I started used airbnb a few years ago. We found an impeccable private place there. It is surrounded by Australian bush, Kangaroos, and birds which would sing all day long. The place itself is minimalist in style but full of tasteful simple details. We loved the fireplace! It was already crackling away when we got there, so the cottage was warm and cozy. Our stay there gave us the option of reconnecting with nature while having a comfortable night. One can walk around the property and smell the characteristic Australian bush, be observed by the Kangaroos and, when the night comes, sit down outside and enjoy the magic of Australian sky full of stars. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely, clean, new cottage in a peaceful rural setting. Anne and Owen were very friendly hosts and provided helpful suggestions regarding local winery visits. The wood stove in the cottage heats up fantastically - in fact, the second night we deliberately didn't stoke it before sleep as we got a little too warm on the first night! Even though the cottage is a out of town and down a short stretch of dirt road, Anne's directions proved easy to follow and we had no problems finding our way. Plenty of kangaroos to see along the way too!

Anne User ProfileAnne is a superhost.

I love nature, music, enjoy visiting other places & experiencing other cultures.
Have visited a number of countries and cities. The world has lots of new experiences to offer. Each place is so unique.
Lived on an Aboriginal settlement for 1 year, some decades ago. Learnt so much about indigenous culture that year, working and living with the local people and studied their language.
We live on 9.7 hectares of mainly bush with many Australian native animals and birds, sharing our land. Over 150 types of colourful native wild flowers bloom on our land over various seasons.
It's about 15 minutes by car to a local small village.
We left city life 8 years ago. Love our changed lifestyle. Plan to grow much of our own food.
