First of all I want to say that we loved our ten day stay by the walls of Lucca. This was my fifth trip back and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The apartment is lovely and it felt so special to sit in the garden of an evening (buy insect repellant), drinking an aperitif while watching the passing parade on the wall. The apartment is well supplied and equipped and the bed is very comfortable. It was extremely hot on the first night but after stripping the bed of quilts and running the portable ac during the day, it become more pleasant. The owner (who is NOT Sidrak), is a stereotypical charming and delightful Italian who extended warm hospitality towards us. When he realised that we Prefer the old fashioned Bialitti epresso coffee pot to the more modern drip machine, he turned up with a brand new one for us the next day. I want to heartily recommend this property to you, but please read my proviso under the heading of communication and being left sitting for 45 minutes waiting for the agent until 'rescued' by the owner. The agent didn't turn up until more than an hour after the appointed time and we had no option but to wait out in the street in the hot sun after travelling for ten hours while six calls to her went unanswered.

Historically, a great place to stay. Super location, right next to the wall. The garden is beautiful. Escape route in case of fire is not good, as the windows are barred, three locked doors are required to get out into the streets. Extra charge if you check in after 6 of 25 Euro, which we didn't know about.

What a beautiful apartment! It was such fun to have my own, private, comfortable, well-appointed space. It's also quite quiet as it faces the private back garden and La Mura (the walls) of Lucca. It’s larger than it photographs and could be very comfortable for a longer stay (I was there 4 nights). It’s perfectly located next to the walls and on Via Elisa, a main thoroughfare into and out of Lucca Centro. It’s also walking distance to the train station, making it a great home base for exploring Tuscany. Check-in was easy. I followed the detailed instructions and was met within minutes of my arrival. The property manager doesn’t live on-site, so once I was shown around the apartment, I did not see or hear from them again. There are other full-time residents in the building, but I didn’t cross paths with them either. I did meet the two cats that live in the backyard, who were friendly and cute. There are two things I will point out for future visitors, especially if you plan to stay when the weather is warm. The air conditioner in the bedroom is quite noisy. I slept with earplugs to dampen the sound. There is no A/C in the kitchen/living room area, but with its incredibly tall ceilings and stucco walks, the apartment was always comfortably cool, even in the 90-degree weather. The private garden area was lovely, but there were no cushions on the couch (unlike in the photos), and the table and chairs had not been cleaned in some time. Since the garden advertised as a key feature of the apartment, I expected it to be readied for guest use. However, being summer, it was also mosquito season. I did find a citronella candle and incense sticks in the apartment, but the ‘zanzare’ were too intense for me to spend time in the garden without being doused in repellant. These minor issues that hardly detracted from my overall enjoyment of the apartment. I had a lovely stay and would definitely return.

This apartment was very conveniently located; easy to get in and out of Lucca, yet walkable to everything this incredible city offers. The apartment itself was welcoming with a grand atrium filled with greenery and high ceilings. Once you're through the atrium, the private courtyard awaits with statues, greenery and seating. The actual apartment is clean, spacious and comfortable. This place suited my family's needs so well and we will definitely come back!

We had a lovely stay at the Apartment Bea - it was a cozy base for our second week in Lucca. The garden is very beautiful, and the quiet of the apartment was magical at the end of each day. We loved being so close to the wall and in such a great neighborhood. The apartment is charming and elegant and the kitchen is a treat. Our hosts were very helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend this apartment.

Historic and chaming, with a bust of Elisa, Napoleon's sister and once an owner of the house, in the garden. The location is perfect. Just inside the walls but very quiet. The only noise was the early morning chiming of nearby church bells, but I don't suspect Sidrak can do anything about that! This is a large apartment and just right for two people. Highly recommended.
