About this listing

Renovated home built in 1890's. Our home sleeps 7. We prefer families. Walk to Atwater Market. Bike/run on the Lachine Canal. Five-mins to Old Montreal. Sunny garden with cedar deck / herb garden, gourmet kitchen, lots of space.

The space

Sunny garden, gourmet kitchen, lots of space. Family friendly.

Built in the late 19th century, this original greystone has high ceilings, exposed brick walls, french windows, original fireplace, and oiled hardwood floors throughout.

Our home features a spacious living room and dining room, and equipped kitchen with a Viking gas range and dishwasher. The full bathroom has a tub and separate shower. You'll find a Bosch washer and dryer in the laundry room. Additional amenities include linens, towels, and WIFI. There is a queen-size bed in the master bedroom, two twin beds in the kids' room, a sofa bed in the office and a single bed in the brightly-lit wide hallway/office area.

Located in the heart of Pointe Saint Charles, you'll find cafes and restaurants on nearby Centre street (we recommend the Bloom Cafe and the new Chez Raoul for coffee, breakfast, and lunch). If you have kids and you are visiting in the summer, parks can be found a block away in either direction with swings and climbing equipment and a sprinkler pad.

Public transportation is on your doorstep with bus routes to take you to the nearby metro station (Charlevoix). If you prefer renting a Bixi bike, there is a stand a block away. (Favard and Bourgeoys). Downtown is minutes away by bike or car. Even closer is the Lachine canal (with a bike path) and the Atwater market. Equidistant is Montreal's historical past in Old Montreal.

Parking available for free on the street according to city parking regulations posted.

Guests are welcome to help themselves to anything in the kitchen (croissants in the freezer, orange juice, etc). WIFI, washer / dryer, linens, towels, kitchen utensils and dishes. Guests do not have access to the basement.

We will probably be out of town at the same time as your visit, but we are only a phone call, text or email away. We will leave names of neighbors who are happy to help out as well.

Pointe Saint-Charles is a historical residential neighborhood that is bordered by the Lachine Canal, Old Montreal and downtown. You can walk or bike to Atwater Market or Notre-Dame restaurants (20-25 minute walk) next to the market and the Lachine Canal. There are two parks a block away in either direction, as well as a pharmacy and corner store. Large supermarkets (IGA, Maxi) are a 15-minute walk away.

The metro is about 15 minutes by foot, or catch the bus at the corner on Favard (3 minute walk) to go to Old Montreal and downtown. It's a 5-min bus or taxi ride to Old Montreal, 10 mins to downtown. Or rent the city's Bixi bikes down the street!

We had an awesome time in Montreal. Sarah's place was ideal for our young family to explore the area. We just wish we had more time. Thanks for your hospitality.

Sarah was an excellent host and I would definitely recommend staying with her! She was very informative and answered any questions right away. She left a little booklet with any information we would need and labelled everything in the home to make things easier for us. She went out of her way to accommodate our large group and it was very much appreciated. She was also available to call/text if we ever needed to ask her anything which was very helpful. Getting downtown was a breeze and while the location wasn't right downtown getting there was a super easy. A 15 minute walk to the metro or a quick walk to the bus stop and you can get downtown in no time. The home is very spacious and very functional. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you would need to make a meal and with everything labelled it make it very easy to navigate. The home is very nice and spacious and you just feel right at home. We had an excellent experience at Sarah's place and I would recommend her place to anyone without hesitation!

Sarah's home is exactly as it appears in the photos, absolutely beautiful. There was more than enough space for our family and the neighbourhood quiet. Very convenient to parks, supermarkets, Atwater Market, public transport and restaurants. Sarah even provided a great information booklet that helped us settle in. Anything not in the booklet was easily answered by Sarah via text or email. I highly recommend Sarah's home to stay in when in Montreal.

I and my familly live in Sarah's house in this summer during the visiting in Canada. Sarah's house is vey neat and we can find what we want in the kitchen when we cook. Especially Sarah provides the warm how-tos about the house and community. Sarah's house is not far from the downtown even if we take the bus. It's vey quiet in the night so that we had a good sleep.

I teach at a college here in Montreal. My husband is a translator. We have two daughters, two cats and one miniature dachshund. We are really involved in our children's alternative nature school here in the Pointe and we also love to cook great food, drink good wine and garden.
