Studio 210 is a sanctuary located in our tranquil neighborhood in the south hills of Eugene. Our cozy remodeled backyard guest house has sky lights, a kitchen, queen bed, futon couch, table, chairs and spacious bathroom. You can park in our car port and enjoy the backyard patio, pond and stream. It is accessible to both downtown Eugene and the University of Oregon with public transportation. The futon couch folds into a second bed for additional guests. We welcome all cultures. LGBTQ friendly.
We have lived in our home for 20 years. Over that time we have landscaped our yard and added creative touches to our home, making it a very inviting environment. There are brick and flagstone pathways and walkways throughout the yard with flowering shrubs, trees and plants through the seasons. Our most recent project was to remodel the studio space in the backyard. We put love and intention into making it beautiful and original. The studio is clean, very tasteful, modern and comfortable. There are windows and sky lights in the living space and the shower, creating a light and open feel. The living space has wood floors and the bathroom is tiled, with a large artisan style shower. There is a television, high speed wi-fi with streaming capability and a well-equipped kitchen with a stove, micro-wave, toaster over, toaster and coffee maker. A new organic queen bed with quality bedding and a full pull down futon couch is available as a bed for additional guests. Memory foam is available for the futon, making it as comfortable as the bed. There is a closet with space for luggage and a small dresser. A private walkway leads to a private entrance. In the backyard is a hot-tub, tables and chairs for eating and relaxing and a stream and waterfall. For the truly hearty, we have a small sauna at the top of our stream, converted from an old redwood hot-tub turned into a steam filled hobbit house in the woods. The flowing stream is a soothing sound with which to start your day with coffee, have afternoon tea or end the day with a glass of wine. If you open your windows it will lull you into sleep. Complimentary coffee, tea and creamer of your choice will be provided at the beginning of your stay. We meticulously clean the space before your arrival with unscented, natural products and the linen is laundered in natural products. Our rates may vary based on demand and time of year.
We are a 20 minute drive from the Eugene Airport. Our house number is on the street curb, by the front door and on the car port. We always make our best efforts to greet you upon arrival. If that is not possible, we will make arrangements with you for access. We will soon be installing a lock box with key. You will have a space reserved to park in our car port. There is a private brick walkway along the right side of the house to the rear, leading into a fenced back yard. The studio door will be on your left and the house back door straight ahead. There are no steps to get into the Studio, however there is one step down into the bathroom. There are 3 steps up onto the deck and some up and down through the garden paths onto the flag stone patio. You will have access to all the amenities in the backyard, including the hot-tub, deck and patio, tables with umbrellas and chairs. We hope you make full use of them.
Interaction with guests
We are easy going, love meeting new people and will greet you upon your arrival. We live in the house that is connected to the studio, but give you your privacy and space as desired. There is no pressure to interact and we do not at all mind being contacted with questions or conversation. The backyard is shared with a deck in between the house and studio. We will be available or will ensure the availability of assistance during your stay. We do not provide cleaning services during your stay, but cleaning supplies are left in the space. If you have an extended stay at our reduced price, we can arrange for regular cleaning for an additional fee. We will provide clean sheets and towels weekly or as needed.
Other things to note
Eugene has many quality and interesting restaurants, coffee shops and microbreweries. Less than one mile away is the Market of Choice grocery store, the long-standing local version of Whole Foods. Near-by locally owned restaurants worth visiting include Tasty Thai (frequently voted Eugene's best restaurant--they will deliver to our house), Pegasus Pizza, Off the Waffle and Turtles. Bruno's Chef's Kitchen is one of our favorites for special occasions. Visit (URL HIDDEN) for a list of over 100 diverse restaurants that are part of a delivery system. Great downtown coffee shops include Full City (at several locations) and Vero Expresso on Pearl Street. Many local vineyards are open for tasting, including King Estate (where you can also get an amazing meal and view), Sweet Cheeks, Silvan Ridge and Noble Estate. The Cuthbert Amphitheater has outdoor musical events in the summer and the Art and the Vineyard event over the July 4th weekend is a must visit if you love good food, wine, art, the outdoors and music. The Oregon County Fair, which occurs Friday through Sunday the second weekend of July and has been going since 1970, is probably one of the most unique, artistic experiences in the region. The Hult Center and the Shedd are two venues with outstanding musical shows and entertainment. The University of Oregon never disappoints with athletic events from football, softball, soccer, Lacrosse and most notably hosting the Pre-Fontaine, Olympic trials competitions and other track and field events at Hayward Field. A unique local theater at which to see a movie is the Bijou on campus and the Bijou Metro downtown. For those who love hiking, check out Spencer's Butte Park, 5 miles south of us, which will take you up a mile path through old growth trees onto a rocky terrain that, on a clear day, give you not only views of the greater Eugene area, but also the Three Sisters Mountains and Mt. Shasta to the south on the most clear day. Mount Pisgah is another near by park where you can hike up to a peak or stroll along the river.
Please let us know if you will have additional guests over during the day. The deck and back yard are available for your enjoyment.
