Jason's apartment is a nice cheap option for those who'd like to stay in the 11th, close to commerce, banks, metro stations and nightlife. The way he describes the apartment is exactly what it is not more not less. Overall, I had a good stay and the information provided was very accurate (I had no issues finding the place or accessing the building and apartment). The apartment lacked some cleaning though. In general, a good experience.

Extremely accurate description of anything in the apartment. I knew what to expect in the apartment based on the description left from Jason. The communication with him was really good, always helpful. The check in/out procedure is really good. Very good value for money. If you rent the apartment just to have a place to sleep, and you use the time to roam around the city, this is the perfect place

I am a frequent budget traveler, and I have lived in Paris, and I would not recommend staying in this studio. It has a washing machine, which is always helpful, but there were a lot of issues. Water shoots out of the bathroom sink every time you flush the toilet. There was virtually no space for me to hang my clothing, the dish rack was dirty, rusty, and not usable, the kettle was broken, and when I complained about this, the host told me to find other accommodations, after I had paid and just arrived from the U.S. In addition, the bed is very uncomfortable and needs to be replaced - the mattress cover was torn and the mattress stuffing was coming out. It was like staying in someone's dorm room. The bathroom is very tiny. And the neighbors can see you when you leave the windows open, which was necessary in July, as it was hot. Also, this neighborhood is great, but this block is not necessarily the most populated or safest to come home to alone late at night.

While Jason was very responsive and accommodating, our stay was not. The room had not been cleaned due to a strike that the housekeeping service had the day we were arriving and the apartment smelt very musty even after leaving the windows open all night. We also couldn't connect to the wifi until the last night. The description sounds a lot more appealing than it actually was. Location was decent but did not feel safe walking late at night.

Response from Jason Francis:
It's too bad that the housekeeper was on strike, but that's why I also gave you a discount. Regarding the neighbourhood, as the description clearly states, this is a multiethnic, working class area. Violent crime in Paris is exceptionally low compared to most developed countries, so if you didn't feel safe, maybe you should take a closer look at your own worldview.

Response from Jason Francis:
Where to start? In order to accomodate my previous guests, I asked Paul if it would be okay that the apartment was cleaned by them instead of my housekeeper and he agreed. I asked him to inform me immediately if, upon his arrival, anything was left out of order. When he arrived, he said that the house was clean but that the bedding was not folded. I offered to send over the housecleaner right away but he declined. During his stay, he had problems with the internet connection which, however, was in perfectly working order. I corresponded with him over several days to figure out what was wrong but at a certain point he stopped replying. After staying for his entire reservation, he left the apartment very dirty and made a reclamation for the entire sum. He even tried to use a photo of perfectly clean dishes as proof that the apartment wasn't clean. In a sincere attempt to appease him, I reimbursed him for both the cleaning fees as well as one night's stay which he accepted, only to later ask Airbnb for a full refund. Despite all my attempts to reconcile the situation, he was rude, disrespectful and, apparently, also dishonest. Paul was one of the worst Airbnb travellers I have ever dealt with. I wouldn't recommend him as a guest as he isn't clear about his needs and is seemingly only looking for a free stay.
