About this listing

Stables Cottage is on our farm overlooking a beautiful loch with natural birdlife etc. We are surrounded by the Cheviot Hills and almost at the end of the Penine and St Cuthberts Way. Yetholm Village(1 mile away is our closest shops. You’ll love Stables Cottage because of the outdoors space, the location, the and the views. It is a farm stay as authentic as you will find anywhere.

The space

You will have the whole of Stables Cottage and its patio at your disposal. You will also be able to use the BBQ, Fire-pit and pier with boat at the lochside. This is a wonderfully relaxing spot for a holiday in the midst of some of Scotland most beautiful scenery

Guest access

You can access all over our farm with caution and care as this is a working farm. If you are unsure please4 ask us to show you around

Interaction with guests

We love to meet guests from all walks of life and to help them to relax and discover this beautiful Scottish Borders area and all of its historic connection

Such a beautiful setting and a very well equipped house. The loch, boat and trampoline provided hours of fun for our boys. Searching the skies for the barn owl each night and feeding the pony and horses were also highlights. Lovely walks on the doorstep. A great week.

Great place to enjoy the outdoors and use as a base to explore the Borders. Highly recommended for kids as they enjoyed the farm life and trampoline.

Just returned from what I can only describe as a beautiful stay at Lochtower. The location is second to none with views to gawp at all day long. If you're hoping for a family adventure with children, look no further as the farm animals, trampoline, lake (which we swam in!) boat, BBQ area, fire pit, tyre swings, indoor games, friendly farmers& a perfectly equipped house is all you need. Vicky and her family were friendly&available without encroaching on our privacy. The complimentary free range, eggs on our first morning were a lovely touch and purchased subsequent mornings to set us up for the day! Sainsburys is a 15 minute drive for supplies and Yetholm about 3 minutes (20 minute walk on road) for pubs, convenience store and a small children's park. A handy walks guide is available in the cottage, one of which we tackled&enjoyed on our second day. I literally cannot fault this place and definitely will be returning next year! (For longer of course!) Thank you Vicky, James and your lovely daughter :)
