Our cozy coastal home has everything needed to create a perfect getaway. Whether you're a nature lover, adrenaline junkie or just in need of some quiet R&R, you'll find it here. Part of the Three Capes Scenic Loop, Pacific City is a quiet seaside town with beautiful beaches, stunning scenery and abundant wildlife. Centrally located on Cape Kiwanda Dr. between the town of Pacific City and the Cape. With comfortable accommodations and lots of amenities, we know you'll feel at home!
Our cozy beach cabin is approx. 1450sf and has three bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom downstairs has one queen bed. Each of the two bedrooms upstairs has one queen bed and one set of twin bunk beds. The bunk beds are for small kids, NOT adults or teenagers. Therefore, the house sleeps a max of 6 ADULTS and 4 KIDS. There is also a portable crib in the upstairs bedroom closet.
There is a garage, although there is no room for a car (just beach toys!) There's a wrap around deck on two sides of the house. We love to cook, so the kitchen is fully equipped with things such as a crock pot, electric skillet, toaster oven, coffee maker, ice maker, microwave and propane grill. There are lots of linens and towels, including beach towels. There's a washer and dryer with laundry soap and dryer sheets. There are a lot of little amenities as well, such as hair dryers in each bathroom and toiletries.
PLEASE NOTE: We regret that our hot tub, which is mentioned in some of our earlier reviews, is out of commission. There is an indoor heated pool at the nearby Kiwanda Marketplace if you need a fresh water oasis :)
We have Wifi for web surfing and streaming movies on Netflix, Hulu, etc, but no cable TV. We also have a collection of classic movies on VHS and some newer flicks on DVD/Blue Ray. Other indoor entertainment options include books, games, puzzles and a Wii gaming system.
There is room for two cars in front of the garage: one on the driveway and the other on the side of the driveway. Up to two additional cars may be parked in front of the house along the fence if necessary, but we ask that folks carpool whenever possible to limit the number of vehicles on site.
Guests have access to every room in the house, including the garage. There are two locked closets: one in the hallway (housekeeper's closet) and one in the upstairs front bedroom (owner's closet). The fridge in the garage is off limits, but everything else is yours to use!
Interaction with guests
As little or as much as you like! We're not going to micro manage your stay, but if there's anything you need, just give us a call.
Other things to note
During the months of Oct - Dec, book 3 nights and the 4th night is FREE! Just send me an Inquiry, not a Request to Book, and I will send you a Special Offer that includes a free night's stay :)
Our policy is to accept only guests with prior Airbnb rental history and host reviews. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Quiet hours in Pacific City are 10:00p to 7:00a every day of the week. Please be respectful to neighbors by keeping the volume to a mild roar during these hours :-)
GARBAGE & RECYCLING
The large rolling garbage can is located in the garage. It’s lined with a heavy duty black bag in which you can deposit the garbage from inside the house. Please make sure all food scraps and wet garbage is secured in one of the white garbage bags (extra found under the kitchen sink) BEFORE its put in the rolling can. Garbage service is every Wednesday. If you’re in residence mid week, please roll out the garbage can on Tue night and roll it back Wed afternoon. Otherwise, the housekeeper will take care of it.
We do not have recycling pick up service in Pacific City, but Nestucca Valley Sanitary operates the Pacific City Transfer Station on Fri and Sat 9a-4p, in case you need it (38255 Brooten Rd, Pacific City). There is a bin in the garage for cash deposit bottles and cans (please rinse them first!) and a second bin for other recyclable items (cans, glass, cardboard, paper, etc). Please put only CLEAN items in this bin. We will empty it periodically.
Checkout is at 11a. If you need a later checkout, please let us know. We would really appreciate our guests doing a few small things before leaving

-Set all thermostats to the AWAY mark.
-Load all dirty dishes and run the dishwasher, and wash those items that don’t go in the dishwasher.
-Strip the linens from the beds that were used and put them in front of the laundry closet along with used towels.

THANKS A BUNCH!
I'm originally from the South, so I have hospitality in my blood! I moved to Oregon in 2001 and I consider this my home now. I met my husband - a native Portlander - in 2005. I have a lot of friends and family here (and friends whom I consider to be family!), so I am here for good. I will always hold onto my Southern roots though :)
I love hosting, I love exploring and I love meeting new people. My husband and I have been very fortunate to have traveled extensively and have so many wonderful memories. We're hoping to instill in our young son the same passion for meeting new people and exploring new places that we have.
When hosting guests, nothing pleases me more than to know that I created a great experience for them, making them want to come back! I love sharing my home and my knowledge of the area. I'm proud of where I was raised, but I'm also proud of where I live now. In addition to our home in Portland, we are blessed to have a beach home that has brought us so much joy. I hope that our little coastal cabin can create many happy memories for our AirBnB guests as well!
