14 klm from the town of Chania the road winds up to Malaxa with it's charming Greek Orthodox church, the ruins of a Turkish tower and the Horse Riding Center, where everyone can take riding lessons or enjoy a ride in the area.
Our guest houses on the uppermost part of a Cretan stone built olive press and flour mill which have been beautifully renovated by the owner Dimitris Vamvounakis.
Two of these provide the only place in Malaxa for visitors to stay.
Each house has a spacious sitting area from which to enjoy the magnificent view of the White Mountains.
Enjoy the sounds of nature, the little owls, the bells of the sheep and cicadas' singing in the summer.
