A bright and airy New York style loft conversion on the top floor of a former whisky bond, this apartment has a lovely open-plan living space on the lower floor, and a magical rooftop bedroom which opens directly onto a large private roof garden with views of Arthurs Seat and the castle.
The loft is a idyllic haven only 10 minutes from Edinburgh city centre, with fantastic gastro pubs, Michelin Star restaurants and cafes in the scenic Shore area of Edinburgh right on your doorstep.
A bright and airy New York style loft conversion on the top floor of a former whisky bond, this apartment has a lovely open-plan living space on the lower floor, and a magical rooftop bedroom which opens directly onto a large private roof garden with views of Arthurs seat and the castle.
Across two floors at the top of the old bond, the loft has a spacious living area with Togo sofas, Mourne Textiles accessories, Ron Arad pieces and behind the Modus room divider bookcase is a large dining table with a stunning Jurgen Bey Lightshade Shade above which creates a beautiful centre-piece to any evening spent at home. Hardwood floor throughout.
There is everything you could ever want in the professional kitchen - Smeg fridge, Seimens integrated microwave & oven, dishwasher, a second large Smeg range oven, and a white Italian marble topped island unit that creates an extra work surface as well as being a nice spatial divide between dinning and cooking areas.
We have a Brazilian slate tiled wet room & toilet, with double sinks in the bathroom and a custom-designed dressing area. In addition there is also a separate cloakroom toilet.
Up the spiral stairs, on the roof, is a large bedroom 'pod' with a double-bed, reading area & bookcases, and floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides allowing breath-taking views to Arthur's Seat and out onto the private terraced roof garden. At night there are soft lights in the palms trees and plants which create a lovely backdrop for evening drinks and relaxing outdoors after a day in the city.
With pieces from our furniture and design collection throughout the loft, there are all the creature comforts to make this your home-away-from-home while you stay here.
There is also a private parking space which we could make available for a small additional cost depending on dates/arrangements.
It is very quiet and private, and not being overlooked yet being in the city is such a rare thing.
The views are perhaps the best bit about this loft! There is a private rooftop terraced garden that looks out over the rooftops of Leith, up to the city centre and the Castle, and Arthur's Seat. And, on a clear day you can see the sea behind the dock area in the distance.
Whether it's morning coffees or evening drinks under the stars, the rooftop and its views have to be experienced to be believed!
Interaction with guests
If you need anything during your stay I'm available via email or phone, and I have friends nearby if you need somebody here in person (if I'm not available).
- We have lovely neighbours and a quiet, well maintained building, please respect this and treat our home as you would your own. No parties and no loud music after 11pm. I will leave instructions in the house for appliances, and suggestions of places to eat and drink in the neighbourhood, transport information etc. so that you can 'live like a local' as soon as you arrive at the loft.
