We loved just about everything about the orchard apartment in Cumberland Center, ME. I was born in Cumberland so the area was very familiar to me. Cumberland Center is a lovely small town, a short ride from Portland. It is a good base for investigating southern and coastal Maine. The apartment was very comfortable. There ARE stairs but at 78 years old I had no problem with them. The kitchen is very modern and has every pot or dish or utensil you will need to prepare meals. There are good restaurants within an easy drive. We especially love Pat's Pizza in Yarmouth...great menu and the pizza is very good. Toots Ice Cream on Rt. 115 in No. Yarmouth is excellent. If Maine seafood is on your list go out to Pine Point in Scarborough. Ken's Place is very good and some folks like Bayley's almost next door. Do not forget to check out Portland Headlight in Cape Elizabeth. In MY mind it has to be the most beautiful lighthouse in the country.

A charming location! The unit was very tidy and impressively spacious. We found it nice to stay on the outskirts of Portland with the drive in being very easy. Greg, the host, and his family are so friendly and inviting.

We loved both the accomodation and the area. We were warm and comfortable on a beautiful Apple farm. Our host had made sure everything we needed was provided and we hope to return to this special place.

Greg was a fantastic host! He made sure to get in touch with us well in advance of our stay and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. When we arrived, Greg greeted us and we had a great conversation. He was really outgoing and interesting, and my wife and I both enjoyed meeting him. The apartment is beautiful! Everything is clean and new, and there are views of the orchard from the side windows. There are nice country roads for biking, or Portland is about 15 minutes away. Can't beat that!

My wife and I absolutely loved our stay. We found it so awesome to be staying on an actual apple orchard. Greg was away for the weekend, but made sure that his family was available to take care of our needs. His brother even gave us a tour of the orchard. The apartment itself was beautiful. It had all the essentials a hotel would plus more. We spent most of our time in Portland, which was about 10-15min away. It was so nice to come back to a nice and cozy home away from the hustle and bustle. We plan on visiting next year again. I highly recommend staying here!!

The family farm was built in 1812 and remains a landmark in the town. Since 2000, my wife and I have restored the farm and just a few years ago, she designed the apartment. The Orchard is a hobby and my job revolves around Maine Tourism. I remain active with orchard work, biking, hiking, and water 's sports on nearby lakes & ocean beaches. I would love to share this special place for your visit to Maine.
