Our cosy 19th century cottage connects the quirky market town of Ulverston with the South Lakeland countryside. Settle into a spacious double room, relax in the garden and enjoy the views!
Our double guest room is at the front of our home, overlooking the Sir John Barrow monument on Hoad hill - one of our town's treasures! We are very lucky, being situated at the back of Ulverston, to have a large rear garden which backs onto fields. We are visited by lots of wildlife.. 49 species of birds in the last year as well as foxes, rabbits, frogs and lots more!
You will have a private bedroom during your stay. All other spaces are shared. You are most welcome to watch t.v. in our 'snug' and enjoy the communal spaces (i.e. kitchen, bathroom) as you please. Our dearly loved garden backs onto fields and the town beck - feel free to enjoy our outside space.
Interaction with guests
We will be present during your stay and will be happy to answer questions etc. We could maybe even show you some local sights if you would like. We are happy to be social, or to give you space.. whatever suits you.
Other things to note
Chris teaches Tai Chi. If you would like to join us in our 7am daily Chinese yoga (Qi'gong) practices, you would be most welcome. These take place in our garden when possible.
We share our home with our cat, guinea pigs, fish and we also have bees at the bottom of our garden. We keep our front door closed to prevent our cat Fred from venturing onto the road, so please always close the door behind you.
