The Minster House used to be the place where servants from the bishop of Ghent lived. It is small historic house, but renewed and completely furnished. The place is at some 40 m from the Bishop's palace, which itself is adjacent to the St Bavo's Cathedral. This cannot be more in the middle of the historic center of Ghent. The street is pedestrian only and very quit. The house is close to restaurants and dining. The kitchen is fully equipped. Breakfast is not supplied as standard.

The space

The house is protected architectural heritage, dating from the late 17th century. It is lovingly restored with respect for the abundant historic elements.

I'm sorry you had trouble with the stairs. It's usually not really an issue. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the house.

The apartment is in a perfect location behind the cathedral near the Groete Market Wim was able to get the place ready for an early arrival and communication with him was excellent. As previous guests have mentioned there are 2 staircases which are narrow and winding, so you have to take care when going up and down the stairs. Overall a big historical house in the centre of town that I would recommend.

The house is a beautiful 3 story home in the heart of Ghent. It’s a nice and quiet stay with a residential feel to it. Could not have asked for a better spot to stay at during my time there.

Eclectic house. Very central location. Front door lock is not very secure. Kitchen is well fitted. Bathroom is adequate. Very modern Samsung TV. The stairs in the house and very steep and should be negotiated very carefully.

After researching hotels and other Airbnbs, I decided on The Ministers House and I was not disappointed. If you want to experience Ghent from an amazing location- look no further. The house is on a quiet alley, but turn one corner and you are plopped right in the middle of picturesque Ghent. You cannot beat this location. In terms of the house itself, it is full of character and authenticity. You won't find this kind of charm in a hotel. Host was very accommodating to our early check-in and met us so that we could drop our bags off while he cleaned up from guests that had checked out that morning. Highly reccomend!

Great place in central Ghent. 1 minute walk from the main square on a quiet street. Apartment is exactly as shown in photos. Definitely has a lived in feel. Wim meet us to check in and had local recommendations. As other reviews say, the steps are spiral and bathroom and main bedroom are on separate floors if that's a concern for you. Great place overall
