Hayloft Cottage is just outside the village of Gilcrux and is part of a barn/stables conversion along with 6 other cottages. It is exclusively for couples and guests can privately hire the hydro therapy hot tub for total relaxation. Hayloft is the smallest and hence the lowest priced cottage making it ideal for travelers holidaying alone or couples who are on a budget. Because of it's size we only allow one small/medium sized dog in this property.

The space

Hayloft cottage is part of a converted stables and barn located just outside of Gilcrux with 6 other cottages. It has a double bedroom with en-suite shower room. Upstairs is an open plan living area with a fully fitted kitchen. Free-view television and patio doors that lead out onto a shared balcony.

Interaction with guests

Wayne and Jo live on site with their 2 children and 2 dogs. There is no reception area but there is a comprehensive information folder in the cottage which should answer most guests questions but we are more than happy to help with any further queries.

Other things to note

Bookings of 3 nights or longer could give you a better nightly rate, depending on time of year. Short breaks during the peak season are at our discretion so may not be available, please enquire before booking.
There is a large hydro therapy hot tub on site which is situated in it's own log cabin next to the beck that runs through the grounds. Guests can privately hire it during their stay at a cost of £10 for a 45 minute session. Please note that it is not available for hire on Sundays.
Secondary heating and electricity for cooking and hot water is by £1 coin metre, average use is about 3/4 per day.

Hayloft was fantastic vaule for money, perfect for what we needed as a couple. In a brilliant location to reach main sites in the lakes. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus, much needed after our long walks. Highly recommended. Lovely hosts, very helpful and friendly.

A lovely cosy little home from home. The accommodation was perfectly placed to explore the upper reaches of the Lake District. The accommodation has everything you need to either eat in or to use as a base. The hot tub is a particular plus point and a lovely way to unwind after a long days walking. Very happy to stay here again.

This is a lovely little cottage. Really cosy and in an idilic setting. Has everything you'd need to cater for yourself. Gives you the genuine 'out in the sticks' feel, whilst offering a great location to explore the North Lakes. Very welcoming, will most likely be back in future. Thank you

Perfect relaxing setting to enjoy some time out together from our busy working lives. Great location. Great setting. Short walk into the local pubs and the food in the barn in Gilcrux itself was sensational. As was the hot tub hire, especially when enjoyed with a bottle of prosecco.
