We have had a lovely stay at Lindsey's barn, the welcome was warm and friendly and the barn exactly as described, with added little treats upon our arrival. Lydia, Lindsey's daughter was really helpful too and sourced us a taxi company who charged only £6 to take us to the nearest village of south zeal where we had a lovely meal at the Kings Arms pub. Zeus the dog was a welcome visitor on most days and we even managed a BBQ on the patio overlooking stunning views of Dartmoor. Thankyou Lindsey and co

Hi Fiona, Thanks for your review and comments. I'm sorry if you found cobwebs, they do appear very quickly in an old building and what looks like dust on the skirting boards is mainly the unpainted wood showing through- will be finishing painting soon. We will definitely not be accepting dogs, they are not all as clean, friendly and unsmelly as mine! We may put some something between the kitchen and sitting room but please be assured that we can't see in easily due to the nature of the glass. A second bedroom would of course be a bonus but the price would go up accordingly, I'm sorry if you were expecting one. I hope that next time you are in the area you are able to find somewhere that better meets your expectations .

The renovated barn and location were absolutely stunning. Lindsey is a wonderful host who cannot do enough for you. Upon arrival we were delighted to find milk, delicious scones jam and clotted cream and wine waiting for us. The location is great for exploring Dartmoor. We would definitely recommend staying there.

This is our second stay at Dartmoor Barn in Devon: last year it was so lovely that we decided to come back. This time has been even better! The house is comfortable, clean and bright, Mrs Lindsey is kind and welcoming. And Devon is fantastic!!! We are already missing it.

The barn was a lovely place to stay and was actually bigger and even nicer than I expected from the pictures. Lindsey and her family were great hosts - very friendly and helpful. She provided everything I needed plus some extra treats.

Wow!!! This place was terrific. Even better than it looks in the pictures. A great location for traveling around Devon. I loved having morning coffee on the porch and looking out at the beautiful countryside. And Lindsey and her family couldn't be more generous and welcoming. We arrived to bread, jam, clotted cream and a bottle of bubbly. Lindsey knows the area and is happy to share places of interest with you. She made some great recommendations for us, and her daughter Lydia told us about an Indian restaurant, where the food was excellent. She even helped show us how to get there given the location was a bit tricky. My sister and I loved our stay.

Oasis of peace and quiet in a stunning location. We watched the moon over Dartmoor whilst a herd of cows grazed a few yards in front of us. Only minutes from Okehampton and the A30, yet in another world. Spacious accommodation with all mod cons. Lindsey welcomed us with life's essentials in the fridge - milk, butter, cava - and left us to get on with it. Ideal!

The Dartmoor Barn is a great place to stay on a trip to the southwest of England. It's a perfect home base for day trips to several spots at the coast and walks in the Dartmoor National Park. The beautiful terrace offers a great view over the Dartmoor and it's hills. The barn is fully equipped with everything you need for your own cooking and living. It's some kind of unique because it combines the old walls of the barn with modern furniture. Lindsey is a great and reliable host. The communication in advance was always really fast. Lindsey offered us a really warm welcome and expected us right at the driveway to their little cottage. We even found a refrigerator filled with the basics you need for a good start. Everything worked as it was planed and Lindsey was available for help and questions every time. Staying at the Dartmoor barn is definitely recommendable and we would come back again.
