Managing assets for clients, who often were entrepreneurs owning mulitple real estate assets, she became fascinated with the design and marketing as tools impacting the success of real estate and business. She returned to her architectural roots and founded Melanie Gowen Design, and branding and design firm. When the opportunity came to work on a full-scope investment property renovation in Nantucket, Melanie followed her lifelong dream to live on an island, amongst the most beautfiul properties in the world. She especially loves the melding of historic preservation and innovative design that presents unique challenges for renovation and building.
