Stéphane's apartment is a real refuge a bit further away from the crowds of the city centre. We spent a week there during the festival season and were glad we had somewhere to escape to and to recharge after a whole day of sightseeing, theatre and food during a time when Edinburgh is overflowing with tourists.
The apartment can be easily reached when coming from the airport or from Glasgow by getting a bus or train to Haymarket station, followed by a short walk through the neighbourhood, which also includes some pubs, cafés, shops and a supermarket as well as a post office and public swimming pool. Map apps seem to get the house numbers wrong in the street, so best to check the actual ones when you're there. The flat was as advertised, clean and comfy, with fast wifi, TV, fully equipped kitchen, soundproof bedroom (faces the road) and the best shower I've had in any Airbnb in the UK so far (there are actually 3(!) to choose from). Busses depart from several stops around the corner, taking you to the city centre in about 20 mins. Check the timetables for the night bus service if you're planning to get home late.
Stéphane was abroad, but always very responsive and making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. A friend let us in at a time convenient for us and we checked ourselves out, so everything was very easy and organised. We had a great time and can happily recommend staying at Stéphane's place!
