PLEASE NOTE: We are currently renovating the kitchen, dining area and living room. So access to these areas may be limited and there will be ongoing renovation activity with some of the associated disruption in these areas. This should not affect the room and bathroom though which are on the second floor. You will still have access to the yard and front porch. If you are OK with this then please go ahead and book.
Normally when we are not renovating, the following applies: Light access to kitchen, dining area and comfortable living room, as well as a back patio and garden area. Please feel free to sit on the bench in the rose garden area, sofa on the front porch, or chairs on the back patio and in the woodland garden. There is a Nespresso coffee maker and capsules (ask me how to operate it if needed) and an electric kettle available in the kitchen sitting room for making coffee or tea if you wish. Bread for making toast, butter, and jam are also available for a quick small breakfast, just let me know you'd like some!
Interaction with guests
We are an international family and have lived all over the world though mostly in Boston for many years. We love meeting people, especially students and travelers, and are very happy to help with any questions you may have about visiting this beautiful, historical area. We are friendly without being intrusive. We speak English, French and a little bit of Japanese.
Other things to note
Lovely town center with convenient boutiques, banks, restaurants (Chinese, Pizza, Brewer's Coalition, Rox Diner,Japanese,Burritos and more) , Harvest Bread bakery, craft beer store Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, other coffee shops, excellent gourmet ice-cream,CVS drugstore, and good grocery store is a few blocks away.
For GPS apparently the zip code is sometimes important - there is a similarly named street as ours in Brookline and some GPS systems may take people there instead of Newton. PLEASE BE SURE TO ENTER THE ZIP CODE 02460 INTO YOUR DIRECTION FINDING SERVICE
Also, we have a young dog/puppy. She is a lovely, friendly, good dog, but she does bark a bit more than she should and is trying to learn to be less noisy. It is generally not a problem, but if at any point it is bothersome to you, please let us know.
You will have access to the kitchen, living room, and the patio and yard where there are benches and chairs to relax in. We are looking for considerate, neat/clean and respectful travelers. We have lived in Boston for many years and are very happy to help and answer questions about visiting here.
