My partner and I stayed in the Blue room at Margarets house. We found it had everything we wanted, a basic kitchen, warm shower, good wifi and large amount of space. You do need to be aware that this is not a shared house with the host, but three Air BnB bedrooms upstairs of her …

Upon entering the house the odor of cat pee was overwhelming. My Husband and I were not made aware of pets inside the residence at the time of booking and my Husband is allergic to cats. The cat allergy aggravated my Husband's cough and caused him to be ill during our shortened s…

Response from Isabella Margaret:
1. First line from your message on arrival: “Thank you for the detailed instructions. My husband and i were able to access our room without difficulty. We are appreciative of how quiet it is in the house and being able to hear the rain outside (as we are from Oregon). “ 2. No cats or dogs have entered the house for 20 years that we’ve lived here. 3. Your room was entered because PG&E required us to evacuate the house, stand around outside for 2 hours while they entered every room and checked it. If I refused entry they would have shut the gas off to the house. That means no hot water, cooking OR heat in the house until they cleared it. We couldn’t wait for you to come back and make sure your belongings were not stolen. Here’s another fact: you can’t use a cell phone to make calls when there is a possible gas leak OR turn on a light switch. We couldn’t call you as per the fire company and the gas company. I resent the implication that we were suspected of taking anything of yours. You almost blew up AND burned down our house. 4. Guests are asked to remove shoes to minimize soil on the carpet PAST THE LANDING AREA. Carpets are washed 2 times per year, May and September. I’m shocked that you did not contact Airbnb immediately upon your arrival to let them know how unacceptable the conditions were. Your message to me, quoted above contradicts your review. Had I read past that to see your issue with the heat, I could have opened the vent in your room to make it warmer. You sounded very happy, so I breezed through your message and for that error, you almost caused an explosion requiring professionals to evacuate us AND left a space heater ON when you clearly had plans to leave for a 10 hour excursion. Your actions do not depict careful, considerate guests to me. Perhaps I’m wrong on that too. I leave you with a visual: Sunday morning, 9:30 am, fire trucks, gas company, neighbors watching and 5 people standing in the driveway for 2 hours. My mother in tears, shaking. Guests standing in their pajamas for 2 hours in the driveway. Now do you get it????

This place is great for a quiet night's rest. I spent three days working in Alameda and this place made the stay easy. Clean, no noise, warm bedding, hot water, and easy communications. If I go back to Alameda or Oakland I'll stay here.

Great space, as long as you don't go outside there shouldn't be a problem. Host wasn't comfortable with me being on the block outside although they seemed fine with us in the house. Weird dynamic.

Isabella's place was exactly as she described. We enjoyed the natural light and comfy bed. The bathroom sink was small so it was difficult not to get water on the floor. We had to wipe it up every time we used the sink. Loved the location and the house is clean and warm.
