Peace and tranquility in the heart of the action. Exciting days deserve the biggest sleep! Feather filled sofa, sumptuous silk drapes and possibly Edinburgh's biggest bed - where better to relax after a hard day's sightseeing? So convenient for visitors to the university and events within the heart of The Fringe!

The space

This delightful first floor apartment was chosen for its charm and location - so close to everything going on.
Sometimes you stumble across something that is worth 'going the extra mile' for and herein lies the story of the bed! A good friend discovered this bed in The Middle East and fell in love with it. It was duly packed up and shipped to the UK but it was simply too big for the cottage she found. Happily it has now made its way to Bedinburgh and has become the USP for our delightful home away from home!

Guest access

First floor self contained apartment with Entrance Hall, Spacious Bedroom Suite with sitting room area and TV. Separate kitchen/morning room equipped with oven/microwave and small hob. Newly fitted shower room - (please note that limited space dictated a smaller than average corner cubicle which is not ideal for larger than average guests!)
Full gas central heating and double glazing. Private car parking close by. Please enquire. Waverley Station 0.6 miles - 5 minutes by taxi. 24 hour access. Guests arriving after sunset should ensure they have access to a torch and familiarise themselves with the keysafe layout within the photo section.

Interaction with guests

The apartment is for the exclusive use of guests and is carefully looked after and prepared by our local housekeeper who will ensure that Bedinburgh is ready and waiting for you. All bed linen and towels are provided and basic provisions (such as tea, coffee, bread and milk) will be left in the kitchen for you.

Other things to note

We feel strongly that staying away from home should be a real treat and so the apartment is presented in a way that offers more than just a touch of luxury. We have tried to create a delightful haven in which to relax whilst being so close to everything that Edinburgh has to offer.

Bedinburgh is just fabulous! The bed is wonderful, the location perfect for the Edinburgh Fringe, and Janet couldn't have been more helpful and flexible with regards to check in and check out. The bathroom is small but this is fairly referred to in the description of the apartment, and it certainly was more than adequate for us. The few basics in the kitchen were very welcome. Thank you so much and we hope to be back at some point!

We loved our stay here. Great location in Edinburgh. Very comfy bed. Lots of hot water with decent pressure. Nice treats left for us like shortbread and basics like milk and bread. Felt really welcomed and relaxed.

Cozy apartment in walkable distance of the city centre and all main tourist attractions! The kitchen is well-equipped and some breakfast essentials are provided. The bedroom faces the back of the house, so it's very quiet at night.

Janet's apartment is really lovely--more like a nice BnB than a friend's guest room. The building itself looked a bit like a fortified tower and was on a busy street, but inside the space is quiet, with lovely views of the courtyards and lots of light. The furnishings are really comfy--the huge king-sized bed and squishy chairs. We also really liked that cereal and milk were provided, and happily took advantage of the washing machine after a week of hiking! Finally, the location was ideal, very close to a grocery store and lots of yummy restaurants including a great pub called 56 North that was just a block away! In sum, I would highly recommend this place and would stay there again if we return to Edinburgh.

We had a lovely weekend in the gorgeous Bedinburgh. There was so much attention to detail from the welcome pack to the toiletries and everything else in between. Beautifully decorated, and, oh my goodness, THAT bed!! It was a great location, we were in the centre of Edinburgh within minutes, but in a lovely secluded area with no noise or distraction. Cannot recommend highly enough, and would definitely stay again.

Janet's place is fabulous!! What a wonderfully stocked and centrally located apartment! The best part is that Janet provides everything you could ever need! From breakfast provisions to a three ring binder full of valuable information we wanted for nothing. We can't wait to return!

The mattress, pillows and linens were oh so cozy. Best nights sleep ever! All of the comforts of home. Very quiet and safe neighborhood. Extraordinary restaurant and gin bar right around the corner. Cereal, biscuits, butter and milk, coffee and tea provided. Hot water with great water pressure. We took the "majestic tour" with the hop on hop off palace. Best way to see the city, Edinburgh Palace and Holyrood Palace. Had a fabulous dinner at "The Booking Office". Fabulous trip!

Janet User ProfileJanet is a superhost.

Hello - I live in Cumbria with my husband and we adore the countryside which is our home. With 5 grown up children located from London to Edinburgh we are fortunate to be able to visit and stay in some wonderful cities on a very regular basis. Edinburgh though, is just special and so convenient for us - a little over 2 hours door to door and really easy on the train. With so much to do on the doorstep our 'Bedinburgh' apartment allows us a taste of city living without sacrificing the comforts of home.
