Guest access

We offer self-guided 24-hour check in! Our home is set up with a Schlage lock electronic key pad entry system. We provide you with a code to enter at the door and you're in. This 4-digit code will be yours to use to access the house for the duration of your stay. It's super easy and no keys to lose. Our guests will have access to everything in the house including the kitchen and two outdoor patio areas.

Interaction with guests

We want our guests to enjoy their stay with no interruptions. We will stay out of your hair during your stay with us, unless you need something! If you ever have any questions, concerns, or requirements during your stay, never hesitate to ask! We will come running!

Other things to note

IMPORTANT: There is construction happening next door. While there is noise, it will not affect your trip adversely.

No Smoking inside the home. When smoking on the property please use provided ashtrays. If evidence of smoking inside is discovered we will impose a $500 fine.

No noise after 9pm on weeknights and 10pm on weekends. If a complaint is made there is an automatic $100 fine, $250 and a file started with Airbnb for the second complaint, and Eviction for the 3rd and final complaint. Our neighbors are important to us, and we have to keep them happy. Let's keep things pleasant for everyone by keeping quiet after the designated times. Thank you!

Please properly dispose of your trash by sorting it into the correct bins. We recycle in Portland and trash pick up comes bi-weekly. When we don't sort our garbage, the trash bin fills up too quickly and we can get fined! Please help us minimize this problem by using the GRAY bin for your Trash: Use the BLUE bin for Recycling: Paper, cans, plastic bottles, cardboard. GREEN or Yard Debris bin for of your food waste (except meat/bones). Yellow small bin for glass bottles.

No animals at all, please. We love them, but not for this house.

Portland has an issue with ants. They are present year-round and can smell food from miles away. Please store all food of the counters in properly sealed containers or kept in the refrigerator to minimize their presence. Thanks!

No guest-packages are to be delivered to the house. If you have a package delivered anyway, please note we are not responsible for the well-being of your package, nor are we available to help you track it down. Amazon Locker is a great way to have packages safely delivered!

The house was easy to find in a quite neighborhood. It's nice that there is outdoor seating on these nice end of summer nights. When trying to find food there were so many great places to walk to. The beds were great and it was so nice to have shampoo and conditioner ready for me in the morning.

This place is amazing. It's super clean and comfortable. Close to great shops, restaurants and bars. It is quiet in the house and super well appointed. The neighborhood is very quaint but you are so close to everything. There are large bottles of Pantene shampoo, conditioner and Dove body wash which was so nice since I couldn't get my toiletries for two days (luggage was lost). The kitchen is very well stocked, there are super nice grocery stores nearby if you are the cooking in type like us. There was more than enough room for all of us. The beds are heavenly. We went in a pretty hot time of the year but there is a split AC unit upstairs and three window units in the downstairs. It was plenty cool enough. Neighbors were friendly and had great suggestions for places to go. The construction next-door is essentially done and did not bother us at all. Plenty of street parking. Communication was a breeze. Whenever we had a question they were answered within 5-10 minutes. They were very accommodating as well. I have stayed at many Airbnb and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)'s. They often times have secondhand furnishings and are dirty, it's hard to find a place so nice at such a good value . This place is perfect.

Gorgeous home. Great air conditioning! The patio is lovely and shaded. Everything was immaculate. The beds are high quality. The bathrooms divine. Simple check-in and access. The location was fabulous! Lots of wonderful restaurants within walking distance, including the best Taco joint in Portland. I wish it were my own!

This house is not lived-in, therefore it doesn't feel super homey. It feels more like a hotel with cheap art on the walls and drugstore toiletries in the cabinets. It is super clean and a wonderful location with plenty of off-street parking. Communication with the management company is fine, but you are communicating with many people, so you aren't building a relationship with one person. The management company knows the property relatively well, but there are still a few gaps here and there-- there IS infact AC and it is on the lower level, not the upper level though. Construction is happening right next door, but inside the house is surprisingly quiet. Make sure to read ALL of the rules before renting this place out-- there are a lot of them. Especially notice the cost of additional guests over 2-- even though the house comfortably sleeps 8.

This is an amazing home right in the middle of the Hawthorne district. It's literally a block from Common Grounds Coffee and Kure Juice bar on Hawthorne. The neighbors are super friendly and offer lots of tips on what to do as an out of towner. The highlight of the house is the amazing loft upstairs which is pretty much perfect if you have young kids. It's got 3 beds, a TV, a teepee, a big closet and a full bathroom that's been remodeled. The kitchen and living room are also amazing and it's great that there's laundry right upon entrance through the side door. The home overall has a great mix of tradition with new fixtures and it's a really special place!

5-star aspirations with 3-star delivery. Craftsman home is nicely renovated and well appointed in a very cool neighborhood! The house itself has a nice floor plan and fenced in areas were good for kids -- great central and walkable location. However, communicating through a management company was not a great experience. Issues ultimately did get resolved but since communications is handled by a team, it felt like details were often missed/lost and the first response was often a deflection rather than assuring that the matter would be resolved. Various responders often did not have all the facts straight but yet responded with certainty. Example: We happened to visit during what was probably the hottest week of the year and had asked in advance about the A/C and after clarifying which property we were talking about (since they manage multiple ones) were told it was Central A/C; then later we noticed in the Check-in Guide distributed about 4-days in advance of our visit, that there is not in fact Central A/C. We requested clarification and were told there is a mini-split A/C unit on the 2nd floor and that if run continuously it could likely cool the house -- well, the unit is in a room that is closed off, there is no way it could have cooled the entire house; it could not even keep the upstairs room evenly cooled (granted it was very hot that week). The host did come through to offer to install 3 additional window units and that did resolve the issue for us, but initial contacts often felt like deflections. House Guide feels uninviting with a long series of restrictions and a fee schedule for violations -- understand why you might need these with high volume stays but I’ve equally stayed with other super hosts that had high volume stays but presentation felt much warmer. Additional charges for more than 2 guests did not feel like a good value - for a house that size, feels like additional charges should not begin until more than 4 people, given that level of service certainly did not feel like it increased, nor what needed to be done to clean up afterwards. Since a cleaning company maintains the property rather than the owner, issues may not get reported unless the next guest reports them, e.g. a very slow drain in the shower that felt like a build up over a period of time; did get resolved the following day after we reported it, but a bad experience for a so-called 5-star accommodation. Another example of where a host would keep closer tabs than a management company. A decent stay but feels like there are growing pains to scale this business, and the level of expertise and service varies greatly within the management company team; would be uncertain about staying again at a White Spider managed property.
