Hekla has a beautiful apartment in a perfect location. It’s close to all the local bars and restaurants, but far enough away that you don’t get the noise. It looks out on to the water front and distance mountains. I’d recommend for any couples looking for a stay in Reykjavik. Hekla provides many recommendations, any we tried were spot on. Listen to what she says :)

Hekla's Place is absolutely stunning. Not only is the interior perfect for a couple, her recommendations for restaurants were on point. We did not have one bad meal when we were in Iceland! In fact, we instead had some of the best meals of our lives. The location of Hekla's place is lovely. In walking distance of EVERYTHING, but you wake up to stunning harbor views every morning. An experience I would recommend for anyone. We loved everything about Hekla's place!!

Helkla’s apartment was exactly as described and very clean! The location was great with lots of shops and restaurants close by! We loved the hamburger place across the street for a quick meal and absolutely loved our meal at Forretta Barinn which was right around the corner if you’re looking for something nice! We didn’t get to spend too much time inside the apartment as we were too busy adventuring but we would absolutely stay here again on our next Iceland trip!

Hekla's apartment is cozy and well-appointed with a comfortable bed, excellent shower and helpful kitchen amenities. It is really well-located and has a beautiful view, and Hekla sent a very comprehensive message prior to arrival with a series of great tips on places to go in Reykjavik. However, communication with Hekla was generally difficult. She did not reliably respond to messages and, despite us making specific arrangements with her for our early-morning arrival including paying for an extra night, the keys to the apartment were not available when we arrived off our flight, and we had to phone and wake up her mother to let us in. She also provided us with the wrong apartment number, leading to more confusion. Overall, if you plan to stay here, note that the apartment/location is great, but beware of communication snags.

Perfect location within Reykjavik to explore the city. A lot of dining options available walking distance. Grocery stores are also walking distance if you want a relief from the exorbitant price of food in this area. A full-functioning kitchen and tools can allow you to cook meals at home. Parking was abundant in the back parking lot for our rental car. Perfect location to explore the southwest region of Iceland. The unit itself is aesthetically designed and very clean. The building itself was hard to find but the host had made arrangements with a museum a few steps away to hand us the key. They were helpful with directions. Street sounds were heard as it is on a major street but the city seems to die down early so we didn't have any noise issues at night.

Hekla's place was great for location and convenience. The apartment itself was very modern and clean with all the amenities you could need. We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Reykjavík is a lovely city with plenty to see and do!

Perfect, perfect, perfect! My husband and I spent our honeymoon here, and not only were the apartment and the view positively stunning, but it was a fabulous location to access a cute downtown and all of the bus stops for out-of-town excursions, functional enough that we saved costs by shopping at the nearby supermarkets and cooking, and just overall an easy and wonderful experience! We really can't thank Hekla enough for how fabulous every single aspect of our stay was.

A happy 25 year old journalist, copywriter, bartender and hostess, currently studying theory and practice of theater, born and raised in Iceland. I enjoy the little things in life such as last minute plans that work out beautifully, jumping on a trampoline, Thai food, completing difficult tasks, dancing on tables, watching my best friend paint portraits, doing absolutely nothing, reading a book and devouring noodles from the Noodle Station in the Einar Jónsson sculpture garden, reading scripts, cocktails, listening to my downstairs neighbor playing the same song on his accordion over and over again, connecting with a stranger, late nights in the club, collecting freckles on sunny days at Austurvöllur, going to the movies by myself, capturing memorable moments with my camera, stuffing myself with sushi, driving far with my friends to go swimming in the country, writing for myself, love interests, going to the record store, complimenting and receiving compliments, other cultures, dinner with friends, listening in on other people's conversations on the bus, organizing shelves, street art, breakfast from the bakery, films by Woody Allen and Wes Anderson, old people, fully charged electronic devices, fresh laundry, furry animals (especially cats), everything Lena Dunham touches, fashion & style, collecting art made by my friends, popcorn, giftbags, DJ-ing, sentimental belongings... I could probably go on forever.
