The wagon in the woods is located in a secluded corner of a 1.7 hectare permaculture project in the heart of the rural north of Portugal. On the doorstep of the Peneda Gerês National Park this is the perfect spot to escape to nature. We are also only 40km from the ocean. There are stunning views from your terrace overlooking the valley of the Rio Lima. Although the wagon is off grid it has its own small kitchen and private compost toilet.
The wagon in the woods is the perfect space for your escape to nature. It is located in a secluded corner of a large permaculture 'farm' on the edge of the spectacular Parque Nacional Peneda Gerês in northern Portugal. The farm is off grid, power is supplied by solar and so is the hot water for the open air showers. Although the wagon itself has no power there are solar lights and there is also a charging area where you can power up your mobile devices. There is also limited internet access on site if you need to check emails etc. There is a small private terrace at the wagon with seating and small kitchen including a fridge, and a stove. There is a private compost toilet close to the wagon, but also several others around the farm.
You are welcome to explore the farm and use the facilities such as hammocks, badminton and trampoline. The wagon has its own private hammock and seating area as well.
Interaction with guests
I live on site and I am as available as you need.
Other things to note
There is a small walk from where you can park your car to the wagon. It takes a couple of minutes.

I have been living in Portugal in the small village of Vale for the last 3 years. I have Quinta do Figo Verde with its small campsite, and also the little cottage in the neighbouring village.
On the land I am trying to establish a permaculture inspired space in which to grow food to support me and the small campsite I have built.
I have spent many years travelling and feel that I have finally found a home in the mountains of northern Portugal.
