Villa Ciotta is perfect and very beatiful place ! For me - 6 stars ! The apartament was very comfortable, safe, had everything we need - even more The location couldn't have been better - it is a few steps to the ideal beach, very close to the famous Scalle dei Turci . We also loved the antique furnitures and decors. Maurizio and Gabriella are very accomodating and friendly host. We highly recommend !

This place is a paradise! The house is literally on the beach, Marco and his family are lovely and amazing hosts - they recommended us a fish restaurant that is now probably in our top 5 restaurants - and everything about our apartment was perfect, we even had two lovely little geckos pop in to say hi on our first evening. Turkish steps are only a 5 minutes walk away, temple valley is about a 20mins drive, the sea is gorgeous and the house is fantastic and with a great deal of history. That makes a great holiday. We cannot wait to be back.

My boyfriend and I had a pleasant stay at the villa. We never met Marco but did meet his lovely parents Eugenia and Mauritzio. Upon arrival, Mauritzio was nice enough to met us on the street where we'd park and help bring our luggage down to the villa through their grape and olive garden to the abode. The grounds are right in front of the beach and just a 10 minute walk to Scala Dei Turchi. You definitely will need a car to get around as there are no markets or restaurants near by. It's a 10 minute drive along the coast to Porto Empedocle and about a 20/25 minute drive to Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples. That may seem a long time to some but that's just due to the small roads. The apartment was clean and quaint. However one downside was the fact that the windows didn't have any screens, so it did let in bugs and mosquitos. Im extremely sensitive to bug bites due to my eczema and had to close the windows and doors through the entire stay. And unfortunately there was no AC in the unit so it got extremely hot. They did provide a fan so that helped a bit. One other note is I made the mistake of assuming there was wifi. It clearly states it in the listing but I've been spoiled. Luckily right in front of the beach to the right of the villa there is a beach bar/restaurant that offers wifi if you need it. Other than that his parents were pleasant hosts and made great tips and recommendations for restaurants in Agrigento.

Response from Marco:
Sheina we are very very sorry if your vacation wasn't 100% perfect. It's our commitment to continuously improve our services to make our hosts experience great! Unfortunately AC, WIFI and mosquito nets don't appear yet in the list of our services but for sure they are, along with others, top facilities that we intend to provide in the short term. As you said we provide fans, further more the apartment is furnished of mosquito repellents for adults and kids. Since the hosts needs and habits are always many and different is very important, for us, to be as clear as possible and for hosts, to read carefully the list of services/facility offered and eventually ask before booking. Anyway thanks for the feedback, I added a note to inform next hosts about mosquitoes and that we provide outdoor and indoor repellents. thanks, Marco

It's really one of the best places on airbnb for now! Directly on the beach, you basically sleep with the sound of the waves! The villa has its beautiful history and it's like a journey through time. The apartment was super clean with some fruit and a bottle of wine as welcome! We didn't meet Marco directly but we had the pleasure to spent time with his aunt - a great and interesting person. We have kids and having the beach just outside the door was very convenient. And scala dei turchi is just some 10 minutes walk on the beach. The beach is with the finest sand, the water is transparent. We stayed it the flat with beach view which is not very comfortable for a toddler (1 year old) but we already knew it when we booked it but as we only stayed three days, we didn't care. I guess for a longer stay you should opt for the flat on the ground floor. The other thing is that there are no shops at walking distance, you should take the car for about 5 minutes and arrive at Porto Empedocle. From the beach however you can reach a really nice restaurant. And last thing one should know - you park the car either on the street, for free or in a paid parking nearby. We used the street parking. Either ways you have to take your luggage down a stair and then through the garden. There was a cart you could use though. The place is really worthy the last two described inconveniences and would even give it more than 5 stars. I just wrote them for future travellers in order to know what to expect. We already miss waking up to the sound of waves and the beauty of the flowers in the garden! Thank you so very much for the opportunity!
