I really liked the history and character of the house. The grocery and restaurants were within easy walking distance. If you use the address link on AirBnB, be careful that it directs you to the correct address on 5th St. It should be close to the intersection of Story St and 5th St. I really liked the house and will return when back in Boone.

Great historic residence. Clean and well stocked. Already booked for another visit.

My family's stay was comfortable and spacious in the four bedrooms, full size dining room for 8, and the living room. The property is well located in Boone. We walked a block to get pizza or pastries. Another block or two farther for restaurants, shopping and groceries. The kitchen was well stocked with staples like condiments. I needed kitchen space outside my my own home, and this was ideal. We need NOTHING. Finally, it was affordable. My future guests will be staying at the McHose House because there is no comparison with other lodging in Boone. Book it before it's too late!

The house was a charming, beautiful renovation located in Boone, Iowa. It was a perfect location for us, as we needed a convenient, accommodating home to stay while we attended graduation ceremonies at Iowa State University. The home was lovely, clean, and beautiful. Donovan was a great and receptive host. We would absolutely recommend it.

The kitchen was well stocked for food prep but utensils weren't well organized. The beds were comfortable. The family room offered plenty of space to gather. The house interior was well decorated with many period touches from the era the house was built. Beautiful floors. Wide steps and staircase, leading upstairs.

Donovan's home was absolutely lovely. Gorgeously restored, and cozy to boot, we had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend visiting family. Donovan graciously met us to give us a tour of the home. We all enjoyed meeting him and learning about the house. Everything is as described; in fact, I'd say the pictures don't even do the home justice. Thank you for a great weekend!

Donovan User ProfileDonovan is a superhost.

I'm married with two children. I am a full-time public administrator by day. After work and on the weekends when I'm not spending time with my family, I spend time renovating old interesting things - like historic homes! I enjoy telling stories about this great house and others that I have brought back to life! My family and I are excited to get to know the guests that visit our interesting and historic home!
