Cody Trout Ranch Camp offers a truly unique vacation experience. You can rent and stay in one of our 20 foot fully furnished glamping tepees on the picturesque Shoshone river bank. We offer campfire pits with a cooking grate, picnic tables and a community fire pit for sharing your days adventures and cooking s'mores. There are new laundry facilities and clean bath/shower facilities. Catch Trout!

The space

How many people can say they've stayed in a tipi? You can! The tipis are 20 feet in diameter and inside you have all the comforts of home. There are beds, chairs, table, lanterns and a heater as well as linens and towels. You can sit on your deck and enjoy the rushing of the Shoshone river, cook on your own fire pit or enjoy swapping stories with your neighbors at the community fire pit. You can enjoy the looking up at the beautiful night sky without the light pollution from the city and marvel at the vastness of the night stars.

Guest access

You, and only those in the tipis, have access to the Shoshone river banks. You also have access to our new and clean laundry facilities and bathroom/showers. There is a playground for the little ones and everyone can enjoy fishing in our fully stocked pond.

Interaction with guests

We request an approximately check in time so we can be sure to greet you and take you to your tipi. We like to show our guests how to use the heater in the event it gets chilly at night.

Other things to note

We have two tipis, the Wolf and Rainbow, which do have electricity available to them for those needing CPAP or other medical equipment or who just want to remain connected. They are located by our fishing pond and in close proximity to our facilities overlooking the picturesque Shoshoni River.

What is provided: (2) battery operated lanterns, (1) large propane heater, (1) medium charcoal grill (No firewood allowed, you will be fined), towels, wash cloths, bedding, laundry facilities, full bathrooms with showers, free coffee, charging stations in the community break room, fire pits, fishing (in the designated pond ONLY or you will be fined as we have a fish hatchery on site and the manager will ask you to leave), firearms store, parking.

What you should bring: Charcoal or fire log (we have these for sale in the office), mosquito spray, cooking items/utensils, ice chest/ice.

We encourage you check into your tipi before dark to enjoy the full tipi glamping experience!

We loved our stay here. You can try to catch some trouts yourself, then bbq them in front of your teepee. There is laundry and MW on site. Just everything you need for an enjoyable stay.

Staying in the tipi was fantastic fun for all the family. We had a go at fishing - our youngest boy caught 3, though we put them all back! - horseback riding west of Cody, and the night rodeo! All great experiences. All staff are friendly and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Abandon Tipi! That's what we did when we realized that what was advertised was not what we got. Online information led us to believe we would be falling asleep to the sound of the stream, all we heard was the sound of traffic. Pictures led us to believe we would enjoy views of the river, what we saw the back of another tipi far from the river. The kind confirmation note from the manger didn't match the horribly rude tone and words on the phone when I shared my concerns -- what I got was cut off mid sentence and told there would be no refund even though what I paid for did not match reality. My family and I left and found another room in town. Don't make the same mistake we did.

Response from Cody Wyoming Trout Ranch Camp:
I'm sorry you chose not to stay and the tipi a try. As you read through our other reviews please note that none of your concerns are mirrored, thus an isolated and individual point of view. I'm sorry you took my directness as rude. I was called numerous times by staff, prior to our conversation, concerning your concerns and heard from other guests about your harsh interaction with my staff. In fact, you hung up on me. This was clearly not a good destination fit. I would suggest that in the future you ask questions prior to booking. We do have tipis on the river, however, you chose this particular tipi in booking. All hosts are more than happy to answer questions and offer suggestions when we know what you are specifically looking for.

We loved the trout ranch! The pictures don't even do it justice. The view and setting was incredible. The tipi was so cozy it got cold at night they had a heater for us to use but we didn't even use it because the nice fluffy blankets kept us nice and toasty. Was an incredible experience. The bathrooms and showers were very comfortable to use. Felt like it was a hotel bathroom not a campsite.

The tipis are beautifully decorated and the view is stunning. I would encourage others to give this a try. I really appreciated the private bathroom/showers. Customer service was great!

This place was AMAZING! We stayed in two different tipis, one on the river and the other near the fishing pond. Both were fantastic. My only regret is not spending more time on the premise taking advantage of the amenities. I would highly recommend staying here. Such an amazing experience for my family!!
