My place is close to the Christiansburg Aquatic Center (.5 miles, you can walk!), Harkrader Sports Complex (2 miles), and the Virginia Tech campus (7.7 miles to Lane Stadium). You’ll love my place because of the open yet cozy spaces and its location!. My place is good for couples and families (with kids). This is my permanent home, but I'll leave and stay locally (so you can get in touch with me if necessary) when you're here. I hope you enjoy my home as much as I do!
Most of the house is yours to use. I will lock a closet and a couple cabinets. And the garage is off limits to guests. Otherwise, make yourself at home!
Interaction with guests
This house is my permanent home. I'll stay elsewhere locally when my house is booked. I'll meet you upon your arrival to give you keys, show you into the house, and answer any questions you might have. I can give you directions and make some recommendations for stores, restaurants, and activities. Or I can leave you alone. Whatever you prefer.
Other things to note
Train tracks are about 75 yards from my house. I hear the train, but it's not disruptive and doesn't disturb my sleep. A very light sleeper may have some issues with the train.
I don't have cable tv. I use antennae on my 2 televisions. I get about 15 channels. But each tv has an HDMI cable, and free wifi is available. You are free to stream to the television from your own device and your own streaming account (whatever you've got--Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBOGo, ESPN, etc.).
- Report any damage that occurs
-I have a cat that won't be in the house when you are, but despite my best efforts to remove it, some of her fur might be hanging around--people with pet dander allergies book at your own risk!
I work at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA as a learning and communications specialist for an international development project. I love traveling, college football (Go Hokies!), music festivals (bluegrass, Americana), reading and cooking. My travel philosophy is adopted from Rick Steves: go local and with the attitude that you will return to the destination (so don't jam in everything in one trip!).
