Africabin was even better than anticipated! The setting is secluded and quiet but still offers excellent access to nearby parks like Canyonlands and Arches. It is very spacious and clean... definitely somewhere we could stay for awhile. We hope to be back!

Thank you for your wonderful stay with us! We love showing guests all of the numerous parks, monuments, and ruin sites in the area that very few people know about. It is part of our Free Guest Trip Planning that we offer to our guests.

The Africabin is a vey comfortable, attractive and well-appointed place to stay in a fabulous scenic area of southern Utah. Over the phone Jerry gave us very useful recommendations on things to see in the area which helped us greatly in planning how to use the two full days we had to work with. Kitchen very well equipped with a gas stove and all the furnishings one might wish for. Big screen TV with good quality picture from the cable service which included PBS, important to us. Don't think it includes ESPN sports channels or CNN, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)BC, C-Span or most movie channels if that is important to you. There is a DVD player and a selection of DVDs that include many that would be great fun for younger viewers. This would be a fabulous place to stay with kids as there are two full bedrooms and more sleeping areas and beds upstairs in the loft and playground equipment just outside. The gas heater in the living room worked very well in keeping the cabin cozy, and that can be important in late April at this altitude (above 7000 feet). Wonderful crisp clean air and a lot of nice outdoor options including gas grill and picnic table and a private porch facing a great view with comfortable furniture. We would have used it more during the sunny morning hours except that we were busy exploring the many fabulous sites in the surrounding area. Natural Bridges National Park, Muley Point, Hovenweep National Monument, Edge of the Cedars state museum of ancient Puebloan peoples and archaeology in Blanding, Mule Canyon kiva, Moki Dugway and the Valley of the Gods long dirt road wandering through a lesser known but fabulous "monument valley" with late afternoon sunlight illuminating the red colored rock formations were all memorable. Thanks, Jerry, for telling us about them! The only thing that was not ideal for the two of us was that there was that there was no internet connection while we were there. In such a scenic and lovely location, unless it's lousy weather, that doesn't matter much however as one is very busy just enjoying mountain landscape and being "off the beaten path" in such bracing surroundings.

Great place. Beautiful and full of so much character. Comfortable beds So much to do. There was four of us, and room for four more easily. But remember that there is only one beautiful large bathroom. We didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of all the luxurious. Jerry is great with answering questions ahead of time. Beware of the deer when driving in at night. Definitely would stay there again.

This cabin worked out perfectly for us to avoid the craziness of the Moab jeep safari. We stayed four nights and the cabin accommodated 4 adults and 4 children very nicely. We hiked Natural Bridges and some of the other more off the beaten path treasures in the area. Jerry was also always quick ti respond to our questions leading up to our stay.

Great space! Very clean, lots of room, well-equipped kitchen. Wish we would have had enough time to relax on the cozy back porch! We were there to hike in Canyonlands NP and Arches NP - both were 75-90 minutes away.

My wife and I are outdoor enthusiasts. We love hiking canyons, riding trails on our UTV/ Jeep, and riding horses up in the mountains. We have lived in the Canyonlands area for several years now and know some of the best areas for sightseeing, and hiking. We love to have people stay at our cabins, because usually the nicest people come here and we love to meet new people. In the Winter you can almost always find outside with our cross country skis or out snow shoeing. My wife also loves to bake and likes to give baked goods to our guests. So come stop in for a snack.
