Room in a basic but cosy traditional stone cottage close to the heart of a picturesque East Lothian village, 20 miles from Edinburgh (10 miles from the beaches and golf at Gullane & Muirfield), offering a small double upstairs room. Two pubs (both serving food), newsagent, postoffice, riverside walks, bus routes all close by.
1790s listed cottage. Accommodation is quite basic and not at all luxurious. Small upstairs double bedroom with coombed ceiling (restricted height in areas). Small basic shared ground-floor shower-room. Kitchen area being renovated so a mess, but area available for making tea/coffee and cooling drinks. Sitting room for guests' use with books, TV (with Arte (français), TV5monde and RAI channels), dvd, wifi. No garden. It is in a conservation area and one of the oldest dwelling houses in the village so might suit those seeking something a bit different, but those wanting luxurious surroundings and finishes should look elsewhere.
Own upstairs bedroom, shared small ground-floor shower room. Sitting room. Easy parking in the village square.
Interaction with guests
It's my home though you can be as autonomous as you wish with sitting room exclusively for guests' use. May be able to collect from Dunbar or Drem rail stations (though buses stop nearby). Je parle francais.
Other things to note
The bedroom has sloped ceilings in the roof and areas of limited headroom. The shower-room is very small.
Occasionally the cottage is available for occupancy solely by guests and there is a separate listing for that.
