August 2017
What an amazing and truly unique place to stay. We enjoyed fantastic weather at the end of August with our two children (6 & 8). The chalet is just as Pascal describes it, the location is breathtaking and the interior very cosy. It is equipped with all the essentials for cooking and living comfortably. The chalet relies on a solar battery for all it's electricity (there is one mains socket) but we found it easy to adjust to using energy conservatively (probably how we should live anyway) and I don't think we ever came close to exhausting the supply/completely discharging the battery. The fridge in the chalet is a small one (think hotel mini-bar) so don't arrive with a weeks worth of perishable food. Pascal stresses the short, steep walk to access the chalet from the road head - it didn't pose any great problems for us. At the road head there is limited space for parking but we didn't have to compete for it. The road access is a single track unpaved road up from the village. It's not especially rough or steep and we managed it in our standard hire car. That said, with hindsight I would've requested a hire car with more clearance and, if there was any chance of snow whilst we were there, one with four wheel drive.
