This trailer is tranquil and simplistic. A great space to relax and clear your head.
The space is very minimal with two beds (one queen, one twin) and plenty of natural light. There is a fridge with a couple of bottles of water. We are almost at 5,000ft elevation, so please drink plenty of water! There are guides to Marfa in the trailer waiting for you. Marfa is a small town and there is a train that runs in the night. I never notice it, but you might. Please bring earplugs if you think this will keep you up. Also, there are BUGS in West Texas. If you do not like bugs, I suggest staying in a hotel instead of staying at the Tumble In.
If you are wondering if there are any current events in Marfa, you can call the visitor center (or stop by-- center is located in historic USO building) and they will let you know what's happening when you will be here. Marfa is pretty happening year-round!
Please note**** check in is at 6pm for weekday reservations if booked back to back with previous booking.
You have full access to the trailer, the RV park grounds, WIFI, communal kitchen, laundry, etc.
Interaction with guests
I encourage guests to arrive at their leisure and self-check in. I am happy to greet guests upon arrival if need be. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU WILL BE ARRIVING. This is important so I can make sure someone will be available to you should you be arriving later than stated scheduled check-in (3pm). Furthermore, when planning your trip, please let me know if you have any questions about Marfa or the tri-county area as I likely have the answer!
Other things to note
If you wish to cook in the kitchen or make coffee, please bring your own cooking things! There are a few pots and pans and no coffee maker. Luckily, there are two great coffee shops in town (Frama for lighter brew, Do Your Thing for the strong stuff). The wifi at the RV park is mediocre, as is the internet at my house and in all of Marfa. Please be aware that the internet may be slower than you are used to, as is the pace of Marfa in general ;-)
Please, as a general rule, be kind to others in the park and to me, the groundskeeper, the property manager. We are working hard to make your experience as great as possible.
Please do not take the pamphlets or any items from the trailer. All items in the trailer should remain in the trailer.
Please take your trash out before you leave.
Please leave the door unlocked when you leave and place the key on top of the fridge.
Please be patient with the local service staff in Marfa. Marfa is a slow-paced and sleepy town, so no one here is rushing :-)
A sabbatical from my academic endeavors turned into staying in Marfa indefinitely. I love the people here. Time is not so brash. I am enamored by the open space and hope you will feel the same way. My ultimate endeavor is to be an art therapist.
