About this listing

This is a centrally located, bright, airy, comfortable and separate 320 sq ft tiny guest house. It comes equipped with a memory foam mattress in the sleeping loft, a kitchenette, claw foot tub/shower, WiFI, and TV, and outdoor patio/garden access. Close to bus/ MAX/bike paths. Sleeps 2 comfortably, +1 on couch or extra mattress. Recommended for adults. No children under 8.

The space

Everything about Chez Rosette has been designed for your comfort. I thought about what was important to me when I travel, and that's what I have created here.
Number one priority: a comfortable mattress, cotton sheets and good pillows. (We have several pillows to choose from.) It's important to get a good night's sleep. The neighborhood is quiet, albeit still urban.
If there are more than 2 guests, I have an air mattress or bedding for the couch as sleep options. The sleeping loft is open, so it's not private. The ladder is easy to navigate but could be a challenge for older people and because of insurance, no children under 8.
The bathroom has both tub and shower - sometimes, you just want to take a relaxing tub.
There is plenty of daylight, but the shades and curtains make it dark in case you want to sleep in.
The couches are comfy. There are books to read, Roku for the TV, and the table is large for eating, playing games, spreading out, working on your computer or drawing.
The kitchenette is small and everything is easy to use. The induction stove gets pulled out and plugged in if you want to cook. There is also a microwave, toaster oven, electric kettle and French Press coffee makers for basic daily needs.

Guest access

The Alameda neighborhood is beautiful, accessible to all areas via car, bus or MAX, quiet yet city-like with Beaumont Market 2 blocks away, Pizzicato, Jim & Patty's Coffee, Bagel Land, Grand Central Bakery and Small Wares, a Portland stand out restaurant. There is also the local hangout McPeets for a beer, BlackBird Wine and Atomic Cheese, Daruma Sushi, Jim & Patty's, Grand Central Bakery, Batter, Starbuck's, NoHo Hawaiian, Cha Cha Cha Mexican and Hoda's Middle Eastern all within 5 minutes walking distance.
I have a German Shepherd named Stella who is around. She is a great watch dog, but also very friendly.

Interaction with guests

I live in the main house and am usually here. The washer and dryer are available, as is anything else you may need. I know Portland very well, so if there's anything you want to know - I can usually help!
If I am not here, someone else will be available to help.

Other things to note

There is ample street parking right in front of the main house.
Checking in late is not a problem.
The gate can be a little bit finicky so be sure it's latched when you leave. If you're not sure about garbage and recycling, please ask!

Lovely little house. Perfectly laid out to maximize the small space. Neighborhood is great! Pretty quiet but still plenty to do. Had zero issues finding street parking. When we stayed, it was much hotter than average for summer in Portland. The temperature inside the house was fine overall, but we had one night that was pretty warm.

Highly recommend staying here! My sisters and I were in Portland for a long weekend and Rose's beautiful tiny house was a fantastic home base for us. The tiny house is actually very spacious, with lots of natural light, super cozy, and has everything you'll need. Rose gave us tons of great recommendations, and was a very helpful and flexible host. We were in Portland during a heat wave and the tiny house stayed naturally cool the whole time - it is very well ventilated and insulated. Thanks again Rose!!

I'd liken Chez Rosette to a home away from home. I felt very comfortable and at ease during my stay, and I enjoyed coming back to the house to unwind and relax in the evenings after playing tourist in a new city. The house is exactly as described and pictured and located in a quiet residential neighborhood, but walking distance to some great shops and food options (pips doughnuts!). Rose was always available though respected our privacy. She was incredibly sweet and lovely and had some great incite and recommendations. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I cannot recommend Chez Rosette enough.

Location was in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood but was close enough to all the places we wanted to see in Portland (via car). Not sure how it is with transit. Rose was an excellent host, allowing guests to have their own space if they want but also very available and hospitable. The place and decor was modern and comfortable and made the stay awesome.

Chez Rosette was very pleasant. It was clean, quiet and private, with breakfast, coffee, pizza and a small grocery within walking distance. I would recommend it, and stay there again! Thanks!
