a lovely place to stay Jacki was so welcoming. tea and home made cake on arrival. very interesting place to say amazing art work every where loved the garden. enjoyed having a go on the blow pipe in the garden. very friendly and helpful. the breakfast was lovely with local eggs from the farm (double yokes) fresh ground coffee figs grown in his garden. i would stay again.
My first Airbnb stay was a brilliant experience! It was only a short walk from the house to Goodrich Castle, which I have been wanting to visit for a long time; and Jacki explained how to continue my walk up over Coppett Hill and then down along the River Wye. It is beautiful countryside - the hill is a nature reserve and full of interesting flora and fauna - and there are beautiful views all the way to the Brecon Beacons. I really loved staying at Jacki's house too - he was a great host, and the house and gardens are full of interesting and quirky artwork, not to mention a bus-shelter summer house and a fantastic treehouse! My room was very pleasant, and I really appreciated how dark and quiet and peaceful Goodrich was at night - it was genuinely the best night's sleep I've had in ages. I can thoroughly recommend this B&B in this lovely village, and will stay again if I'm ever back in the area. Thank you!!
Stayed at Jacki's place in Goodrich for a night - as a base for a couple of walks and a trip to Ross on Wye. Lovely room, big comfy bed with bamboo outside the window and a view up the valley. We walked to the castle - well worth a trip in its own right and can definitely recommend the local pub, the Hostelrie for food and a place to hang out. Jacki is great, we loved talking to him about his roots in Borneo and practising firing blowpipe darts in his lovely garden. He was the perfect host and my Chinese vegetarian breakfast was a delicious and fresh treat - my friend had the full English... We didn't plan to spend two days in Goodrich, but ended up going for a walk with Jacki followed by cream tea in the tree house! We'd go back!
