About this listing
My place is close to Purgatory Ski Resort nestled within the San Juan Mountains, and it is 17 miles north of Durango itself. You’ll love the views, the outdoors space, and the elegant ambiance. The accomodation is great for couples, solo adventurers, business folks, and families up to 6. Kids must be 8. I particularly think it is a wonderful spot for a honeymoon or anniversary celebration!
The condo has been updated with granite countertops in the kitchen and stainless steel appliances.

If winter is your season, a free shuttle will transport you to Purgatory Ski Resort in 10 minutes. There is also nordic skiing, dog sledding, snowcat skiing and snowmobiling.
The warmer seasons afford an abundance of attractions including the Durango-Silverton Narrow Guage Railroad with a stop very close to the condo, hiking, biking, fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, kayaking, canoing, and many others. The Music in The Mountains festival provides concerts throughout the area during the Summer.
Tamarron Resort has been recently renovated and offers a spa with a large pool, 2 hot tubs, a steam sauna, and massage and facial services. Tamarron is also a gateway to the San Juan mountains and near two lakes, Havilland Lake and Electra Lake.
The small city of Durango boasts more restaurants per capita than San Francisco and is home to Fort lewis College. It can't be beat for its openness and charm. Please see my links for more information on these attractions.
Come experience the sense of freedom and relaxation that this wonderful location offers!
Guests have access to the condo itself, the fitness center, the lending library of books and videos at the lodge, and a nearby area that has an ice machine, laundry equipment, and a coke machine. PLEASE BE PREPARED TO PAY A $25/NIGHT FACILITY FEE TO TAMARRON LODGE UPON CHECK-IN. This is required by Tamarron Resort and is NOT at my discretion. The condo has its own laundry equipment and ice maker. The pool is closed for repairs so the facility fee is $20/night for now. A new restaurant is opening Oct 2016 onsite. Purgatory Resort is open for skiing now, and additional snow is expected soon!

My name is Kathie Allen and I am a family physician still working part-time in Salt Lake City, UT. My husband and co-owner is Craig Fineshriber, a retired Utah Symphony Musician. We both enjoy the performing arts and indulge in the occasional trip to New York for a culture fix. I sing in two singing groups: Mountain Jubilee Chorus, a women's barbershop ensemble, and Darena Womens Balkan Choir, which I direct. I am fairly fluent in French and continue to study it with a private tutor. Fitness is important to me and I enjoy outdoor activities and keeping my garden lush and beautiful. As a host, I am always thinking about details of what makes us happy when we travel. Things like adequate trash recepticles and tissues matter because after staying somewhere for several days, one begins to notice the convenient placement of such things. I have tried to make this condo a combination of comfort and sophistication. You are unlikely to meet me in person because I live in a neighboring State, but I am very responsive to queries, especially through email, and am here to help you settle in and enjoy your Durango visit.
