I only stayed 1 night. The room was spacious and cosy, there was a lovely fire going in the guest lounge room. Margaret made me a delicious breakfast the next morning. I made the effort to come into Kaikoura despite the large detour required (due to ongoing road repairs being undertaken following the November 2016 earthquake), largely to have a chance to see sperm whales. I was successful in this and found Kaikoura to be very picturesque and worth the extra effort. Thanks Margaret & Nicky!

My stay at Margaret's place was brilliant. The place was very neat, spacious, tidy and well equipped with the essentials. The bed was extremely comfortable as well. Margaret and Nicky were great hosts. They were very approachable and warm. They offered me good tips and information that were useful for my travel within Kaikoura. Moreover, I had very good home-cooked breakfast courtesy of Margaret. It was a real pleasure to have met both of them. It's a pity that I did not stay much longer. I'd highly recommend Margaret's place if you are visiting Kaikoura.
