Due to previous problems, (I'm sure this doesn't relate to you) I've needed to implement a minimum age requirement of 21+. Guests under the age of 21 are entirely welcome - they will just need to be accompanied by parents or guardians.

The easiest way to disrupt a stay is a plumbing problem. To prevent this, I kindly ask you to please place things like sanity napkins in the sanitary bin I've provided in the bathroom. I simply want to ensure you have a royal flush kind of stay :)

If you're coming to NYC to party, you've picked a great place to do so. Unfortunately just not at my place. Though I'm sure it won't come to it, serious complaints of unruly behavior or loud music will unfortunately result in you being asked to leave. Not good for you. Not good for us.

Check-in is at 3pm, and check-out is by 11am. Arriving slightly earlier, or want that extra hour to sleep? Should be fine, but please check with me first.

Whilst we do a thorough professional clean between each guest stay, I kindly ask that prior to leaving, you clean and put away any dishes or kitchenware used, and put any dirty towels in the hamper. It helps us get through the cleaning process quicker and allows us to keep cleaning costs down for you and and future guests.

To ensure i keep the floorboards squeaky clean for my guests' enjoyment, i have a no shoes policy inside my home.

I understand that accidents happen. But i do ask that you please let me know when they do. Chances are i can fix them as effortlessly as possible which also means better chances of having your full security deposit returned too.

What you do in your personal time is entirely up to you, but I have a strict no drug use policy. This is just the law… not so much one of our rules. Also, Please no smoking inside. (You are welcome to smoke either out front or back.)

To keep our costs down (and pass those savings on to my guests) i kindly ask that you switch off lights when not in use or leaving the house. Mother Nature thanks you too. :)

I ask that you kindly respect the maximum occupancy requirement. I have this in place instead of an additional guest charge in an attempt to keep costs down for you. I understand that for a whole verity of reasons, you may want additional guests to stay in the place. In the event that you want additional guests to stay, please contact me to let me know. Im reasonable and will accommodate wherever possible.

Also, no pets are allowed

To ensure full safety of my guest’s belongings, I like to keep the front door locked as a precautionary measure. Whilst being one of the safest areas of town, i want to ensure every guest stay remains problem free, and this is just one small + simple thing I'm able to do to ensure that. :)

Great host, super friendly. The place is exactly as in the photos, the host made sure to leave everything clean and organized. The neighborhood is a bit far from Manhattan (40 minutes), but worth it for the price. The floor is super thin so you will hear the neighbor walking. The door had one broken lock and the bed was partially broken, but the host will fix it! Great choice

Response from Madi:
Hi, The apartment is exactly 25 mins from Manhattan if you were to take the Q train. Maybe you took a different route? But the train and route times are explained under the travel details on the listing. Also, as explained upon your arrival, the top chain lock was broken by the previous guest before you. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it would've been impossible to have it replaced before you arrived. The apartment is in fact located in a very safe building and neighborhood and no complaints or break ins have ever occurred. Also, the full size bed in the bedroom is not broken. It has wood frame and headboard and is very durable.

We really wanted to love the place, and Madi was just lovely upon inquiring about the apartment to check in. The apartment itself is overall great. It's a nice setup, cozy, conveniently located, close to subway and the park. But there were a lot of little things that dampened the experience. First, the bed linens didn't seem recently laundered, and the floor underneath seems like it hadn't been vacuumed for ages. There was no more dishwasher detergent left, and the dishes and utensils that were just "cleaned" still had food on them. There is a portable AC unit, but even with fans, when it's 90-100 degrees out, the apartment still got very warm. The wifi is okay. You'll get hiccups if you are streaming movies. Middle to end of our stay, the host was unreachable. I had no idea how to check out and the info couldn't be found anywhere. Fortunately we left the key inside which is what she eventually told us to do, after we had left. For the price, can't complain. We enjoyed our stay otherwise.

Madi was a great host and her apartment is exactly as advertised! Close to subway, great morning coffee shops, and very comfortable living space to relax after busy days in the city. Will not find a better space for the money! Thanks, Madi!

Madi's place is in a great location with shops about 5 minutes away and the Winthrop station about 8 minutes of easy and well-lit walking away. Her building is secure and boasts new washers & dryers in the laundry room and an elevator that always worked. Her apartment offers a large and comfortable living room with a great TV and a very comfortable bed. The shower always had hot water. I did not use the stove, but the microwave and dishwasher are just fine. There was a plumbing issue, but Madi set maintenance on it and by day four of my stay it was repaired and there were no more difficulties. Madi travels (I did not meet her). She employs cleaning help that may have had an off day before my stay, but the issues were all handleable. I definitely recommend this lodging option.
