The Beach Hut, just metres from the beach, great for sand castle building, swimming, dog walking and beach games. My place is so close to local walks on the moor, sightseeing musts and the Steam Railway. You’ll love my place because it will give you the opportunity to step back in time and enjoy the simple pleasures in life again. The chalet is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).

The space

Welcome to our Beach Hut!
Step back in time and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. The décor is distinctly vintage with lots of little curiosities to draw the eye. You will almost certainly feel like you've stepped into an Enid Blyton or Arthur Ransom book. It is the perfect base for a Famous Five adventure! In addition to a small separate kitchen and loo the main living space is set up with beds, armchairs and a dining area.
There is a double and a single bed with velvet curtains for privacy, and a single additional z-bed available too.
Outside space includes seating areas both at the front and back of the hut, so you can chose to watch the world go by from either side. Tables and chairs and 1 recliner is provided for guest use.

Guest access

You will have complete access to all of the hut and the facilities provided by Dunster Beach.

Interaction with guests

The family can be around to assist you with any aspect of your stay should you need it.

Other things to note

Please note, there isn't a shower in the hut, but the very clean and well maintained shower block is a mere 20 metres from the hut.
Towels are not provided unless previously requested and agreed.
Parking for 2 cars is provided, free permits are required and are provided at the hut for you.
Pets are welcome. Please note that they must be on a lead when on the Dunster Beach site - except the actual beach where they are most welcome to roam free!

The Vintage Beach Hut is totally charming! It's position is lovely and we so enjoyed staying. The beach is fab, the steam train passing by several times a day was very exciting for the kids, the ducks visited every morning and the site shop was very good. Shower block is just across the way and was very clean and lovely to use. The hut is a no frills charm kind of place, this isn't luxury accommodation but exactly what a beach hut owned by your granny should be like! We loved it but agreed that fussy people wanting new, modern and spotless might be disappointed. Sheets and towels were all supplied and clean. Helen made booking very easy and Mary-Lou (Helen's charming Granny) came to say hello and had left us milk, eggs, biscuits and welcomed us to use whatever else we could find. She was lovely and we so enjoyed meeting her. We would certainly return. Thank you Helen.

The beach chalet was absolutely beautiful and very homely. The location was fantastic as its literally on the beach. We brought our dog with us and it was very clear that on the holiday park dogs were welcome as well as on the beach. Both Helen and her Granny were very helpful in organising the stay. I would definitely come here again!

Great place for a mini break a stones throw from the beech. We arrived later in the evening but no problem to get into the charming beech hut. Will definitely recommend a stay here. We took our 9 month Labrador with. Very dog friendly area and lots of other dogs around. Met the owner Mary-Lou charming lady!
