Our home was designed by my father, a Milwaukee architect. He took great care in designing the home so the lake and surrounding forest are present within the home. Crack the windows at night and the lake is like a lullaby.
You will be able to access all areas of the house except a small storage room. The garage has family items and is not accessible.
Interaction with guests
We are happy to share favorite spots to eat, hike, bike, shop, and play.
Other things to note
If you have young children we should talk ahead of time. There are open stairways and the yard is not fenced. Please call to discuss before you book. our number is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).
We have a TV but not cable. We watch DVD's or if you have a laptop you can watch on your computer using our wifi.
We have top of the line appliances. Refrigerator is SubZero. Our oven is a convection and microwave oven in one, closer to the size of a large microwave. We have two grills outdoors, propane and charcoal. However, if you are planning lots of baking, you may not find our oven large enough. We use the stove top and grills for lots of dishes.
To prevent ground water pollution, Door County does not allow septic fields. Therefore, all our water is pumped out of the house into a water tank. If it gets within a couple days of full, a buzzer goes off and you must be willing to call me or an 800 number to let them know. You need not do anything else. The tank is outside and you don't need to be home for them to come to pump. You just must be willing to make the call or it will slow down the home's plumbing.
A deposit of $500.00 is required upon booking. The deposit automatically converts to a security/damage deposit upon arrival. The deposit is NOT applied towards rent; however it is fully refundable within 48 hours of departure, provided the following provisions are met:
a. There is no damage to the home or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
b. There are no charges are incurred due to contraband or services rendered for the benefit of the Tenant by third parties during the term.
c. All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in garbage cans to north of garage and soiled dishes are cleaned and put away.
d. All keys are left where originally found and home is left locked.
e. No linens are lost or stolen.
f. The tenant is not evicted by owner (or representative of owner) or the local law enforcement.
g. There is no smoking and no pets of any kind are allowed on the premises.
h. The terms and conditions set forth below.
CONDITIONS AND TERMS
A.Overnight occupancy may not exceed seven (7) individuals.
B.If children are in home, tenant is responsible for childproofing all aspects of home for age appropriate to children. Tenant is totally responsible for supervision of children in and outside the home and understands that the yard is not fenced and that water and cliffs are nearby.
C.Tenant agrees to compensate Owner for legal expenses, if any, incurred by Owner to collect damages in excess of Security Deposit.
D.Caretaker has the right to inspect the premises if needed.
E.Cancellation Policy: Cancellation or early departure does not warrant any refund of rent or deposit. See Airbnb policy. If an alternate tenant is obtained under like terms, full payment will be refunded.
F.No daily maid service – While linens and bath towels are included, we suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken off the premises.
G.This is the entire agreement between the parties. Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance.
